Candlewood Suites ALABASTER by IHG

We unfortunately stayed in room 209. It was beyond disgusting. As we always do, we turn the sheets down to confirm they have been changed. The pubic and head hairs was clue one. Then the brown stains. Keep in mind, we paid over $250 to sleep here! The lady at the desk who was very friendly, but "was the only employee in the building," had to leave her post to change the bed. Moving onto the bathroom: the toilet is actively leaking, floor obviously has not been mopped, as there was a Bud light top, two dried up contacts and (used?) toilet paper behind the door. The toilet had diarrhea splash on it and 1/2 roll of paper. The shower had not been cleaned (hair and other "items"). The floor of the shower is all chipped up, which made it hard to stand. We used all of the towels to be able to use the bathroom. The TV did not operate properly but we didn't have a guide anyway. No breakfast served at that price! We will never stay at Candlewood Hotels again. Don't let the pretty building fool you. We are sorry to leave such a review, but changes need to be made here.

You can tell the bathroom had not been swept. There was dirty towels wadded up on the floor in the closet. Soap dispenser was broken in the bathroom. and in the midst of changing clothes, a strange woman unlocks the door and comes into the room because they had assigned the room to her as well by mistake.

I’ll gladly send you pictures of how horrible this room is. I am actually leaving this room because of the horrible conditions. Please refund my money

Clean enough; however, no breakfast and no complimentary coffee nir coffee in the room.

Convenient, easy access to I65 and close to family we were visiting. We have been staying there last few visits and will continue to stay there when we come down for family visits.

Shower and bath dirty/no water pressure in shower/ no soap in bath. Mold growing all over the bathroom grout and caulking Food left in refrigerator. Check in host was pleasant.

The only plus were the beds were comfortable. Our room was dirty, there was a cockroach, the dishes were dirty, there was no coffee pot for the coffee maker.

Very close to families we were visiting. Several places to shop for forgotten items and several places close to eat at. Staff very friendly and helpful with any questions we had. The bed was very comfortable.

I walked into my room and turned the lights on and only 1 overhead light was working, I went to open the room darkening curtains the rest of the way and neither side would move because they were broken at the top, the room also had a terrible odor. I went back to the desk and asked for another room, the curtain to be fixed and odor gone or cancel my reservation. The man at the desk spoke to the maintenance manager and he came and stapled the curtain shut and sprayed the room. Even though it was time for the maintenance manager to leave he made an attempt to fix the issues. The smell did not go away but I spayed some air freshener and was only in there at night. The guest in the room next door had a dog that would bark early in the morning; 5:30. Hopefully the room has been throughly clean and repaired for the next guest.

When we arrived at the hotel we were given a key to a room. When we entered the room the beds weren’t made, the bedding was piled on a table. I got downstairs and notify the front desk who after 40 mins finds another room for us which was only one bed and one sofa bed when I booked 2 queens. We pull the sofa bed out there is candy wrappers and candy all on it with again no sheets anywhere in the room. Go back downstairs to ask for sheets which in turn took another 15 mins. Get the sheets and the lady left again to get pillows & comes back and said she had to “make” some. By make, she stuffed sheets in a pillow case! There is no blow dryer in the room, coffee pot with zero coffee, tv didn’t work in the bedroom or the living room. Air conditioner only worked in the bedroom so left it hot where the teens were sleeping on the sofa.

This was my first time at candlewood suites. I will defintely be staying there again. It was clean, quiet, and had everything you need.

First our room wasnt cleaned. Props to the guy working he was very nice and got us a upgraded room. The bathroom only has one working light so its pretty dark. The bedroom tv doesnt work or at least we couldnt figure out how to use the remote.

Great stay for a few days

Booked two rooms via Expedia for my family to take a break from driving. Arrived (with 6 others) and was told twice no rooms were available despite my reservation. Had to drive 4 hours to find another hotel. Hotel claims I was a no-show; Expedia refuses to refund, blaming the hotel. I have GPS, phone records, and witnesses proving I was there. Poor service, unprofessional—avoid Expedia if you want a reliable booking. Just use AI now to find the best deals, Expedia's existence is pointless as they add no value or security to your bookings. [Fades to darkness.... HA!]

The bed was very comfortable, and the room was clean and quiet. Will stay again if I’m back in the area.
