Really the only problem is that soundproofing was poor and every noise from units above and nearby seemed to reverberate. Hallways were very long, and having security posted by the exit at might seemed a bit creepy. However, the location was convenient to the airport yet adjacent to a lake with many docks and seaplanes. The room was comfortable and the dining room was surprisingly pleasant. Great option for the Anchorage airport area.

This is an older property, however it has been updated and is very clean. The staff members were over the top helpful.
I will definitely stay there again if our future plans include Anchorage

The Coast Inn has great shuttle service between the hotel, the Anchorage airport, and the various seaplane operators in the area. The rooms are clean and the beds comfortable, although the pillows are hit or miss. While we were there, the Pipers restaurant was grossly understaffed, making eating there disappointing.

Check in was easy and the restaurant (Pipers) is not bad. The plates are huge (often can feed 2 people) and decently priced.
The hotel itself is very dated and there is a bit of smell in the rooms. It’s very noisy during the day due to sea planes nearby but they do stop around 8-9pm.

This is an older property, however it has been updated and is very clean. The staff members were over the top helpful.

Our room was not very clean. The room was outdated. It smelt like cigarette smoke. We had to carry our suitcases upstairs because they did not have elevators. The only thing good about this property was it was close to the airport.

This hotel was very clean, however it only provided one small bar of soap. It had no hooks to hang towels. No hairdryer. No extra toilet paper. But most importantly, no elevator. It’s sprawling with many, many rooms. We were on the second floor far away from reception. We had to schlep our luggage up a giant staircase and then one more shorter one and walk quite a way to get to our room.
We ended up having to take a cab because the shuttle was not what we were told to look for. It actually said Alaskan Lakes on it. Coast Inn was in small letters above one of the doors. It was covered in writing. We didn’t see it till it was driving away! I would not recommend this hotel.

It’s not fancy, but I didn’t expect that. Extremely clean tho, and the bed was comfortable. Pipers is awesome. I think they need an elevator and new carpet and doors would go a long way here.
