The stay was excellent. I got the room at the last minute and was so happy because it was booked. I wanted to be close to South Orange because we visiting family. It very so comfortable and accommodating. The hotel was clean and I loved the area for breakfast. Just a little something to start your day. Didn’t have to go outside to look for food. We definitely will be back next year.

The Courtyard in West Orange is a convenient, well cared for and appointed place to stay. My Only frustration was the lack of (reasonable) food options. i.e., An early-morning, grab and go banana at most hotels would be from a bowl at the registration counter - on the house. Here, it was $2. That felt not only unnecessary, but inhospitable.

When we first got there our original room was not cleaned properly (the refrigerator was disgusting) and we were placed in an adjoining room which was not mentioned to us. We asked to be moved to another room that is not adjoining and it was still in fact an adjoining room. The woman at the front desk the night we entered was very kind, but the woman that was there the next morning and for the rest of our stay was extremely rude no matter what the topic was. Oddly, they do not clean rooms every day, is this normal? Every hotel I've stayed at has daily cleanings. The breakfest food was very good, but the service on the second day was terrible and again we were met with nothing but sarcasm and rudeness. They were kind at points but very rude for the most part, I will not be staying there again.

Property was nice enough decent staff ok had to request fitted sheets 4 times for sofa bed before they got it correct. Otherwise it was basically what I expected price way to high for that hotel though

I was surprised to find that there would be no complimentary breakfast. there were items to buy but none of the items listed on the menu board were available because of staffing. The hostess was good enough to quickly fry up some scrambled eggs.
Also surprised to see that there was no complimentary coffee bar.
lastly, while booking my stay I was asked if I would like to apply for the Marriot Credit Card which came with a $300 gift card when approved. I was approved immediately but it took multiple phone calls to get the gift card. As it turned out the fine print for the gift card did not cover any of the cost of the hotel bill. I will cancel the credit card and avoid a Marriot like the plague.
