This is definitely an older motel that's showing it's age, but the rates are cheap and the owners are VERY polite and accommodating and the rooms are very clean. Normally I would be skeptical about an old "mom & pop" motel, but it really surprised me! I can't stress enough that this is a "no frills" motel, but again it's clean and you will NOT find any bugs or anything like that and the mattresses are new and comfortable. If you are expecting the MARRIOTT then go stay somewhere else because im sure someone will still have something to complain about! I would definitely stay her again and they are going to be doing some remodeling. Thanks guy's

The folks who own and run the place are very gracious, and accommodating. It wasn't at all what I expected. They keep it neat and clean. You can tell there is new ownership. Compared to past visits, it is much, much better.

It was good for one night. Shower was very nice and bed was confortable. Toilet paper wasn't restocked but I was not in the room long enough to care. Loud engines from random cars in the middle of the night but that isn't the motels fault. Functional AC.

It was good for the price, clean and friendly. Don't expect extras like other motels. No microwave, refrigerator in room, no extra locks on doors, all steps. It was fine for just staying one night but wouldn't recommend if staying longer.

The owners are super nice and helpful, and definitely went out of their way to make sure we were doing okay the whole time. That being said, the room was definitely musty (it smelled a liiiiitle bit moldy) and the bathroom wasn't the cleanest I've seen in my time. Beds were clean though, and air conditioner worked great. Overall, really can't complain for a last minute motel booking. I'd stay there again in a pinch.
The low area score is because it did seem like we were in sort of an odd part of Des Moines, and if you were hoping to do any tourism or walking around at night I don't think this is quite the part of the city for it. The motel itself is good though and right on a main road that can get you to other parts of the city.

Parking by room entrance door - no hallways to carry luggage down. Would have been nice to have fridge and microwave. Had a very nice walk-in shower. Good sleeping mattress.

It was obvious that care had been spent in renovating the rooms. Great comfortable mattress, pleasing color of new paint. Decent water pressure.
I hope the outside of the hotel gets fixed next. It looks run-down, and almost scary.
Hosts (owners?) were truly wonderful. They had a problem with the ice machine, and offered to go get me some from the store (I declined).
cons: no hangers. windows don't open because there is no screen.
pros: too hot to open the window anyway. Great air conditioner.
I would probably stay here again. South side of Des Moines, easy drive to everything you need.

Good cheap option but rooms are right next to busy road. I had to buy a box fan to get sleep at night.
