Days Inn by Wyndham West Des Moines / Clive

The first night I got in late 10:30pm and the bathtub drain had backed up and dry sewage was in the tub so not able to take a shower. In the morning there was 1” of backed up sewage water in tub and I told the front desk about it and asked to have it fixed so I couldn’t take a shower when I returned that night. I got back about 9:30 pm the second night and there was dried up sewage again in tub so no shower. In the morning there was 2” of sewage water in tub. I told the front desk about not being able to take a shower, showed the pictures and that I had asked to have it fixed the day before and it wasn’t fixed. I asked for a partial refund seeing that I slept in the room. He said he couldn’t because I booked through Expedia, which I didn’t, I booked through hotels.com, and he didn’t have a card on file to put a refund on. Although he did have a card on file for the $50 they hold when you check in. He said I had to go through Expedia to get a refund. I guess I’ll contact Hotels.com and see what becomes of it. I might contact the local Health Department on Monday and let them know of unsanitary conditions. I wouldn’t recommend this place.

It looked bad in the daylight so my husband wanted to not even go in and just forfeit our $. I said let's at least go in. We BOTH had to push to open the room door. The floor was slanted different directions so we staggered about- no alcohol involved. RAISED tthreshhold to bathroom had flooring strips over it; deceiving the user. Noisy in halls as arrived. The cheap price kept us there. TV controls had no directions; had to have maintenance come twice to help Bed was very comfy. Slept great, not noisy at night. Breakfast - no fruit, eggs or yogurt. 2nd morning there was yogurt... I had inquired about it the day before. Elevator was scary. Won't stay again.

This hotel was nothing like the pictures it was dirty smelt like marijuana and the breakfast that they had was waffles and cereal with warm milk do not recomend going to this hotel.

This hotel was very seedy. Drugs, prostitution and permanent residents. I will not put visitors there again.

Nice rooms

While it was peaceful and quiet, with them abidding to their policy of being mindful of noise after 11, and the room being quiet comfortable, the cleanliness outside was a whole different matter. First day there on the hallway leading to my room there were countless trashbags outside one of the rooms making it unpleasant to pass. Add to that one of the hose came to the breakfast with no shoes on despite the sign saying it was required. And to add to that, the mice that kept roaming outside, both on the first and second floor. But inside the room, the cleanliness was maintained. That said their microwave kept making such an awful noise when used. That and the air conditioner lid was loose, while the cover for the controls was broken

No juice at breakfast bar, no rolls. Mostly dry cereal and waffle makings. Only one ice machine, far, far from our room. Staff cut off our room key access before we checked out, so we had to get a re-energized key to reclaim our luggage. Elevator worked poorly, but never completely quit. We were treated as second class citizens because I had booked the room via Expedia, rather than thru Days Inn. I do not recommend that anyone stay there, ever.

Cigarette smell in halls and room. No breakfast in the morning

They advertised that they had an outdoor pool, they did not. Breakfast was not placed out until 630 in the morning. When we got into the room the Wi-Fi did not work, there was visible damage to the room which we had to pay a $50 incidental fee upon getting to the hotel for any damages. Make sure you take pictures of your room as to not get charged.

Breakfast was a little on the weak side.

Great room for the price

Room was dirty. Found multiple earwigs in room including in bed. Bathroom was disgusting. Sink was clogged and peas and corn floated up from drain into sink. Pillows were old and gross and smelled strongly of cologne. Appears that hotel is a residence for some. Shocked that this is recognized as a Wyndham property.

Good value and very clean

There was no breakfast and when I tried to check out I waited 20 minutes for someone to come to the counter.

Toilet was clogged when I checked into my room and had to get someone come to fix it. And outside door on 3rd floor from the stairwell was not securely locked

We were given a room that was dirty and occupied not sure if it was squatters or an administrative mixup, either way I was disappointed. The front desk person said that since I booked through Hotels.com there was nothing he could do about getting a refund. We were given a different room but the whole vibe of the area and hotel gave me the creeps. I will never stay here again and am looking to move away from Hotels.com. Because we didn’t receive the service we expected our money should be returned to us.
