DoubleTree by Hilton at the Entrance to Universal Orlando

When we checked in we were given a room with two queen beds instead of one king, they said on their end the reservation only showed two queens. They verified the Expedia reservation and saw that it was for a king bed room, but all of their king rooms had been given up so we ended up in a “fitness room” which had a king bed and a bunch of exercise equipment in it. Very disappointed and usually we have no problems with Hilton, but this seems to be a communication error between Expedia and Hilton that we would like to see improved in the future.

Property is a mile out from universal studios. It’s better to walk there then to ride the shuttle it’s about 20 min walk compared to the shuttle took over an hour Becasue of traffic. Breakfast buffet was delicious parking was expensive $30 a night. I would’ve picked another hotel if I would’ve known parking wasn’t included. Other than that the hotel was amazing and staff was so nice.

This hotel is EXCELLENT if your visiting Universal Studios (walkable 10ish minute), ADD breakfast it was GREAT superrrr friendly staff everywhere. GREAT experience all around …..

Right across from universal Studios. We have stayed there before and will stay there again. No frills.

It’s was great and I would come back anytime.

Rooms were good size and clean. We always appreciate a fridge in the room and loved the complimentary water bottles! The skin and hair products were great for use in the very ample bathroom! While we didnt have an opportunity to use the pools, we had a view of them from our ro They were clean and beautiful. Having an on-site Starbucks is fabulous but we walked across the parking lot to the little pastery shop nearby for some spectacular breakfast items! We did use the buffet one morning but found it too spendy for the appetites of women...

Everything was great except of the fact that their was no closet, safe or microwave.

Our family visited Universal for the first time this past week and stayed at the Double Tree by Hilton at the entrance to Universal. It was absolutely amazing and we had a terrific time. The pool was clean, the rooms were spacious with closet room and plenty of dresser drawers . The staff were lovely with a special shout-out to the two bartenders at the American Grill. We were able to walk to Universal in about 15 minutes. Thank you for a great stay!

Service was good. The room was nice. No issues. The only thing I don’t like is that paying guests still have to pay extra for parking. That should be free if you are staying there. Or discounted at least. $33 a day is a bit much. I will have to do more research next time. Otherwise, it was a good stay.

Charging 33 dollars a night for parking is ridiculous especially since you are already paying average of $200 a night. The shuttle to take you to universal you have to sign up for in the hotel or it will be a 20 minute walking depending on if you have kids or not could be longer. Not only do you need to sign up for the shuttle it only runs at a few select times. When coming back from universal it is first come first serve and again the times coming back are only a select few. The Starbucks on site is no good. The staff wasn’t friendly the coffee was burnt and they never had enough food. The pool was nice nothing fancy. The jacuzzi was hot no complaints there. Now onto the stay. The room smelt musty and moldy. The air conditioning is loud. The carpet was stained, definitely some form of a pet stain. The beds were not the most comfortable. The cleaning staff put a stained sheet on our bed. We had cockroaches in our room. When we informed them, with a smile they said “yes we are aware thank you for letting us know.” Lots of issues with this particular hotel. It looks great on the outside. However don’t be fooled. Roaches in the room!! Smell of musty/mold in the rooms. Stained carpets. This is not an ideal hotel to stay in. When all of my concerns were brought up to the guest relations upon checkout they looked at me and smiled. They said they know about ALL the issues!! Well tell your customers so they can go somewhere else!!!! I have videos/pictures of everything.
