DoubleTree by Hilton at the Entrance to Universal Orlando

Would give zero stars if possible. We booked this hotel 3 months out and when I checked in they told me the room I booked was no longer available. I find this hard to believe as I was 6 hours early for my check in so obviously they overbooked. To make it up to me they said they would upgrade my room however the room they gave me was well below my expectations and without the view I paid for. The room smelt and was in need a facelift at the least. One elevator kept breaking down and the other 2 are not far behind. They felt unsafe. Breakfast was terrible and we struggled to find any clean cutlery. The food looked unsafe to eat and we didn’t trust it wouldn’t make us sick however staff were friendly and apologetic. Charged US$27+tax (AUS$43) for to 2 small ice creams in a cup for the kids in the lobby. Well overpriced. After check out I looked at my account to find 2 pending charges on it. One for the room that I can understand but the second was for about US$1,500 (AUS$2,230) for what I was told by the manager over the phone later that day was for incidentals however I never charged anything to my room. This matter is still being investigated as it’s hard to get a hold of anyone over the phone with any authority to make a decision. So currently still waiting for reimbursement of this charge as of writing this review. Lastly I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone and believe the Hilton brand shouldn’t be associated with this hotel. Don’t book here.

i liked that we were able to walk to universal and the surrounding restaurants. you do have to pay a daily parking fee for the hotel which i wasn’t aware of until i was checking in. but they also had a starbucks and restaurants inside the hotel, so when you woke up you were able to get some food without going far! everyone who worked there was nice and our room was clean & comfortable.

Amazing Stay!

Orlando is so hot it was wonderful coming into a cool room that did not feel humid.

We love that it’s so close to the park we can walk. Staff here have been great both times we have stayed!

Really nice area and close to universal within walking distance

Staff were exceptional. They were very knowledgeable and handled guest requests accurately and appropriately. I especially loved the warm cookies and the cleanliness of the hotel. Housekeeping were on it. I had the sweetest house keeper . She did an amazing job daily . I loved this experience and would definitely return in the near future.

My stay at the Double Tree was very respectful especially when my flight got cancel the staff understood my situation and I was given another room at a reasonable price. I have no problem staying at Double Tree in the near future 👍👍

Stayed here with wife and kids - 10 & 13 - for our trip to universal. Great location, shuttle bus service to theme park was convenient room was clean and staff super friendly. Would def stay here again

Excellent for families

Either a different room for our last two nights or a partial refund due to ongoing issues that have made our stay very uncomfortable. We’ve had to call maintenance both yesterday and today. Unfortunately, this evening the technician left without resolving the issue. Our air conditioning still isn’t working properly—the unit keeps filling with water, and the loud dripping noise makes it hard to relax or sleep. Additionally, one of the beds makes a loud cracking sound every time someone moves, adding to the disruption. We were hoping for a restful stay, but so far it’s been quite the opposite. We would appreciate your assistance in resolving this as soon as possible. I sent this text to the hotel. I only have a video of HVAC sound.

Easy walk to Universal. The distance is the same as the car park. Good views of Universal from the rooms. Happy with our stay and would return.
