Nice property and convenient to Berkeley

The room I was given had a very strong odor of mildew.

Very dirty. Gym never cleaned. Dirty curtains in room.

The bathroom amenities were lacking. The conditioner and shower gel bottles were empty. Since we were already showering, we just used bar soap to shower and use the conditioner we brought ourselves

I loved this hotel. I will definitely be back and recommending to my family when they come visit.

The hotel was nice enough, but the fact that they didn’t offer room service was a negative!

Love this place!

No microwave in room as advertised. Buildings are run down and in need of work.

We have stayed at this hotel several times and it never disappoints!!! Love everything about it and the fresh cookies are a treat!!!

Not up to date & little ran down… had to go to three different ice machines on different floors to get one that worked. My coffee pot was disgusting! Called for another one and it took 25 minutes. Only gave us two towels and it took an hour to get more towels.

Very nice place and reasonable price. Will stay there again.

Beautiful location, helpful staff, large clean rooms. It's not fancy and you need a car to get into town, but its a steal at $129

Overall, I liked staying at the DoubleTree Berkeley Marina and would stay there again. I liked the overall facilities, the surrounding property with the marina and walkways, picturesque and convenient location, the room was small yet adequate, and the Berkeley Boathouse restaurant/bar was nice. I also liked how close the location was to Skates on the Bay. That was spectacular for dinner. There were a couple of things I would improve. When I pulled in to check in, I found the self-parking or valet confusing. Self-parking for the day was expensive at $40/day and valet was $42. I tried to get a valet but could not find anybody. I waited a long time. I finally parked outside in a temporary location I hoped did not impede the valets and went inside to check in. I wish I knew how it worked ahead of time. Once I checked in and they gave me a parking pass and explained I could use my room key to get into the parking lot to self-park and use the same key to get out at my convenience it all made much more sense. The parking then became convenient ( event though still very expensive). I wish I had known ahead of time. The room was OK. It was small though clean. The shower head could use some tightening as the plumbing would move when moving the shower head. More importantly, the sliding glass door did not have black out so it allowed too much light in and not enough privacy with just a light curtain. The tub had a rough feel on the bottom and it was starting to rust.

Rooms definitely need remodeling and we found cookie crumbs all over the carpet along with chunks of cookie as well. Carpet was stained and dirty! However, the restaurant service was excellent. Roger went above and beyond to serve us and make us comfortable during our dinner on the patio.

Beautiful view of marina. Room was not ready until early evening!

This hotel is in a great location. There's a hill where people are flying kites and walking dogs and all the boats are so pretty. The hotel is good. Some strange smells in the elevators. Bed was comfortable. Staff was nice.
