Everything was wonderful and I am a tough critic. I truly appreciate the initiative before I arrived to upgrade my room to a King Suite when something went wrong on your side. The view over the Marina was very nice and I live in scenic Monterey were it’s also nice all the time. The indoor warm pool that included the gym was right on time. I will return each time I check out a concert for weekend in the area.

Rug in my room was stained and my room was next to the facility laundry room so I could hear the machines going late into the night. The worst park is that the parking is unbelievably expensive. No notice was given about the parking fees in advance and there is nowhere else to park. It made a reasonably priced hotel stay into an exorbitantly priced hotel stay. Very very poor value.

I arrived late last Thursday evening and the staff was not unfriendly they just seemed not happy to be there. The morning staff Friday, Saturday and Sunday last were a totally different story. Friendly, smiling, helpful. Also, the hotel charged me $100 dlls for incidentals, they said that it would take 3-5 business days for them to reinburse the money into my debit card, the 3-5 have passed and the money has not been given back. I would like that to be resolved as soon as possible. Thank you.

The location is very nice, but paying $40 a night for parking is a rip off. The room we had was next to the elevator on the first floor and it was noisy. Hard to sleep. The cookie was a treat at check in.

Very rude front desk staff. Didn’t smile the whole time. Wouldn’t move us to a new room when toilet wasn’t working, didn’t apologize. Luckily got it fixed, the handyman was very nice unlike front desk staff. Room had moldy smell.

The staff at this property was absolutely outstanding, they took incredibly good care of all of our needs. They were highly responsive, kind, and accommodating. The reason for the lower score is the rooms are in desperate need of an update, our room had cracks in the ceiling, sloped floors, and rusting bathroom fixtures. O&M is really hard on these older buildings. That said, the price is reasonable given the conditions, but it’s probably time for a renovation.

This location is probably one of the most amazing locations in all of Berkeley and overlooks the Berkeley Marina. However, the property condition, rooms, soundproofing leave a lot to be desired. The elevators are dilapidated, and the walls and doors are paper thin. Some people might be into hearing neighbors conversations and other nocturnal activities but for people who just want to rest, it might not be the most convenient and restful place to be.
