Loved the property & staff ! All very nice ! Sometimes kids playing on elevators was annoying but that’s only thing

Great Room, Great Breakfast, daughter loved some time in the pool. It was a very pleasant stay and will stay here again in the future.

From a mistake at the front desk that resulted in my card getting changed twice, to the mildew smell in the room, I wouldn't recommend this hotel. It's what was clearly lovely hotel at one time. Today, it needs to be renovated and possibly give the staff a little more training.

Typically we love our stays at the downtown Des Moines Embassy Suites. This stay, however, we encountered some less encouraging things in regards to our room during our two night stay. Our room's air conditioning was not functioning. We let the front desk know, and they said they could put in a maintenance request, but we did not want someone in our room that evening. The fan worked ok, but it was definitely frustrating. The pull out couch had many rips and tears in the cushions, and the mattress was filled with many stains we noticed as we were making the bed. This left us a bit uneasy. Much of the furniture is nicked and scraped in the rooms. Our refrigerator never actually fully worked either, and we had to get rid of some food that had spoiled due to this. Otherwise, we loved the breakfast and happy hour options. Things are always well done in this department.

Really enjoyed this property…Wish our suite would have had 2 bathrooms, especially since this suite says it sleeps 8.

Hotel is in a convenient location. With restaurants and bars in the downtown area and main attractions at a walkable distance. As for the hotel itself, staff is friendly and helpful with recommendations. Complimentary breakfast was tasty and fresh.

We enjoyed are one night stay!

The vents in the main area appear to have black mold growing on them, there is a smell when you walk in the lobby. The elevators had what looked like vomit on the windows and were alo smeared and cloudy like they hadnt been properly cleanednin quite some time. There was bug nests in the celiling and our room had these winged insects all over. The bathroom had no ventilation system so there was mold growth in drawers, walls and the shower. The smell of the room knocked you back a step when you open the door. The room felt damp despite the ac being on and the floor felt like there was moisture in it. When we asked staff about items in the breakfast area they were rude and short. For what you pay to stay in a fancier hotel, I felt we could have had a cleaner experience at a much cheaper out dated hotel.

Nice facility and it could use a little upgrade.

Room had alot of damage(mold and mildew in the bathroom, carpet torn in livingroom, hand towel rack coming off of the wall by sink) bed was very uncomfortable, rooms very humid, and omlet chef was rude and dismissive both mornings we were there. Also seen roaches in the restroom by the pool area. Check in staff was very polite but seemed dismissive when I informed them of our room conditions and nothing was done about our concerns.

The room we originally had was very musty smelling. We asked to change the next day and got a room that was much better but still had that humid feel and a slight smell.

Our favorite part of any eEmbassy Suites is the maid to order hot breakfast!

The hotel is very nice, there was construction outside our room and it woke us up early. The beds are very uncomfortable and hard as a rock. There were a few flying bugs in our bathroom sink. Other than that it’s a nice hotel

Love the location and the extra sitting room when traveling with family. Place really needs some updating. Our bathroom had a broken door and rust all over the tub. It was probably really nice 20 years ago

The staff was absolutely amazing, i did get a free upgrade and got the river view which was lovely. The room was very spacious and clean. My only complaint is the ac vents had something resembling mold in them.

Wished the daily maid service included the makeup of the beds.

Almost everything was excellent pool , breakfast, ...however I did not like the shower
