Field Station Joshua Tree

Perfect for our family of 5- enough space, comfortable beds, nice design in the bathrooms and reception, kids loved the pool, cactus gardens with a fire pit, pic nic tables and games (Boccia).

Very clean, excellent staff.

This stay was the first time in a long time we were sad to check out of a hotel. Would be thrilled to return.

We went to Field Station for vacation in Yucca Valley to be near Joshua Tree NP. The room was at the far rear end, no view, just the car park. Other rooms on the main building had chairs & tables on a mini terrace overlooking a fire pit. People upstairs walked around at 4.30 / 5am, getting ready for a sunrise hike - the insulation isn’t great. The decor wasn’t quite what it looked like on the web, not as stylish & felt smaller. There could have been a bit more art or shelves in rooms - it felt like they’d cut a few corners & hadn’t fulfilled their vision and the refurb budget fell short. The couch was a 2 person folding camping couch (we saw this in the web pics but thought there would also be another couch since the room was for 6 people!)…The other seating furniture was like a folding directors chair. The bunk beds didn’t have reading lights - could be such a cheap & easy addition. Overall it was clean & modern. The pictures of a 6 person room on the web showed a bath & shower - our bathroom was tiny, it was literally a shower cubicle & toilet in the smallest space! The pics of the pool looked slightly bigger on the website & it was quite cold & felt dated. Note that there was no housekeeping, which I can understand being in its location. Overall its vision & branding is great, but it doesn’t quite deliver - it could do with just a few minor improvements & maybe have photos that don’t use wide angle so you get a true representation of size & aren’t disappointed.

Staff should be friendly at a place like this.

Cool concept! Clean and nice people!

The hotel was newly remodelded and clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. Plenty of games to keep the kids entertained. We also enjoyed the firepit at night. Good value for the facilities.

We were very satisfied with our stay.

Super cute, looked just like the pictures online. The room sizes were huge and the staff throughout my stay was kind and helpful.

Close proximity to restaurants.

We stayed here 2 nights after booking another property but deciding last minute not to go there due to reviews about bedbugs. Given this was fairly last minute we were really pleasantly surprised with how high the quality was. The front desk staff were lovely and very accommodating. When their WiFi was down they gave us free drinks which was so kind. The hotel was immaculate and well furnished. The location was excellent for exploring Joshua tree national park and they provided recommendations for hikes. They also have a pool and games as well as a firepit which were all lovely touches and well maintained. It could only be improved by maybe providing an in room safe, small complimentary coffee tray in the room and perhaps a grab and go lunch option for taking into the park as we would have purchased this if possible. However the paid for coffee that we purchased was good quality and fairly good value. Overall, we had a lovely stay and would definitely recommend.

The property is super cute and inviting. Staff very friendly. The jacuzzi was ok, pretty cloudy. The WiFi was in and out, but I feel like that is probably normal for that area. Overall I would definitely stay again and have already recommended to several friends.

This was an underwhelming experience and quite on the pricey side for what it was. The rooms are nice, but can be very loud with the upstairs neighbors. The wifi was down most of the morning and it delayed our check in. I've stayed at two other Autocamp locations and the service and friendliness of staff is a world of difference. I would rather spend the extra money and stay at an Autocamp

They mentioned if I need anything I can text them. I text them for a request and never got a reply.

Large rooms which look recently refurbished. Felt a little bare in places like no wardrobes or drawers just a bed and small table and chair in a large room. Very clean and quiet though. Reception very helpful. Can buy coffees and snacks at reception. There is a ‘gear shop’ but it is really just selling Field Station merchandise like hoodies and key chains. About 30 min drive to Joshua Tree park entrance and a supermarket and several restaurants/cafe close within 5 min drive.

Staff was friendly. Room was clean. There are 2 doors, one facing the parking, and another facing into the courtyard area, which was nice. Would definitely stay here again

Room was really clean and large. Super sparcely supplied: 2 chairs for a 6 person room, no washcloths, glasses, ice, coffee pot, microwave. Did have a good sized fridge and nice shampoo, etc. Breakfast options were overpriced, $5 for a Costco muffin and $3 for okay drip coffee. If they upped the amenities a bit it would be an amazing place. As iis, a bit disappointing.

Rooms are very clean snd spacious.
