This is a large hotel with many spaces to enjoy. However, there are some points to keep in mind: there was no control over smoking, and even in the pool area there were smokers. There is also a lack of clarity regarding the prices of items not included in your reservation. The staff couldn’t clearly explain how much it cost to rent a bed near the pool or what was included, nor could they explain the prices of the minibar products — they referred me to look for a barcode that wasn’t there.

Overall, it was a regular stay. The place was normal to be on Miami Beach and had expensive rooms, not super surprising. I paid for my stay on Expedia completely, and at the check-out, the front desk agent got an Extra charge of $850, per my 3-day stay. She claimed I got charged for parking and Valet parking, which we never had a car, and only LIFT or UBER to transport. After my reclaim, I got charged $98.28 extra, which I agreed to. After 14 days, I checked my Amex Gold Card and got a charge for $524.14. So apparently, they didn't like the idea that we never consumed anything from that small room, with NO view. I will never stay there again, plus I don't recommend it for families at all. Be careful guys.

Most staff were rude especially the desert store. They were laughing at our face. It was on first time there and we didn’t feel welcome. I played for a bay view with balcony and I received instead a room facing to the air conditioning system. We couldn’t sleep because of the noise of the system. Very disappointed with the experience we received.

The Fontainebleau has really lost its luster. Now, I understand why its ratings are so poor. I paid $500 for a room upgrade but still had a room with poor plumbing. The last day, my toilet stopped up. So embarrassing. My entire room was antiquated. No built in USB ports tell it all. The carpet needed replacing. The water pressure was low. I expected more. They need to lower their star rating or upgrade their facilities. After traveling all day and paying an extra $500, I asked the front desk for a bottle of water. They refused to give me a bottle of water. I should have known then that I would be disappointed. This isn’t my first time staying at the Fountainebleau but it’ll be the last. They charge you $53 a day resort fee and say the beach amenities are included. This does not include the umbrella. That’s misleading. I shared my disappointment upon checkout. The only thing he could offer was $60. But if he hadn’t done that, I would have given them 1 star. You can’t charge these prices and not deliver. Fontainebleau did not deliver!!

Overall it is nice and huge property. The pool area is great with easy access to the beach. The property, carpets and rooms are dated. Unfortunately, we had a horrible check in process. It took close to an hour with multiple times going up and down the elevator. The hotel lobby, elevators, coffee shop, and bar was packed with convention attendees. Way too many people in the lobby everyday. I am not sure why they all hangout in the lobby and not in the convention area.

Everything was beautiful, the hotel smelled so good, room was nice and cleaned each day. It was frustrating not having a useable refrigerator in the room. The staff was good but complained about their jobs. There were often times when people had left a spot but it wasn’t turned over in a timely manner leaving the area looking messy and uninviting. Drinks were outrageously priced. They were good but crazy- the most expensive drinks I’ve ever had actually. The turf was so hot, you had to wear footwear even to walk 5 steps to the pool. The pool was not refreshing. There was no clear information about how to access the day club so we skipped it. The gym has a weird layout but it was awesome to have almost everything I needed.

Our room was in the Versailles Tower it was far from everything. I was told they normally place their convention guest on that side and I understand but however, it’s too far for someone who is coming to the hotel to relax. It was almost like a 15 to 20 minute walk to the pool.
