We have been traveling here frequently from Carlsbad to see my nearly 101 year old mother-in-law. We have stayed at the Palm Garden during these visits and this time decided to try the Hampton. Very pleased with our visit. Especially noted the bed being extremely comfortable, quietness in the room and the black out shade that helped us sleep in. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast you served was outstanding.

Safe and pleasant location, a well-appointed and clean room, attentive and pleasant desk staff 24-7, free breakfast, free coffee and tea around the clock in lobby, and small assortment of snacks for sale. The hotel was quiet. I'll stay here again.

Did not like the unexpected daily parking fee. No lot or visible extra security. Just the usual on site parking that was free on our previous stays. Looks like we need to find another place to stay cause this was outrageous. Main elevator also out of service both on Saturday and Sunday.

Parking was supposed to be $10 and they increased it to $20 with no warning. Room was supposed to be cleaned every other day. That was changed to you have to call. This hotel has new owners and have cut a lot of corners. Also I was on the 101 side of the hotel. Loudest ever. Don’t stay here. Hopefully this doesn’t happen to other Hampton Inns.

Hotel charges $20/day to park, when I checked in my room was not cleaned (there was trash in the trash can, the beds were not made and the bathroom was dirty) the hotel room was extremely dusty. The staff was nice but did nothing to compensate for my room not being cleaned. I had to ask for my parking to be comped and was met with hesitancy.

I booked a room here, based on all the great reviews. The ONE thing that was not seen in reviews was the AREA in which the hotel was located. The area in which the hotel was, had multiple signs on road that stated DO NOT LEAVE VALUABLES IN CAR. The parking was only on the street; Although, the front desk told me they had vallet. GRAFFITI was everywhere. I DID NOT and DO NOT suggest ANYONE stay at this hotel. I was afraid for myself (a grandmother) and grandson.

Not a great experience. Breakfast that was offered was terrible, we were asked if we wanted room service since we stayed multiple days and no one ever came. The beds were clean but the carpets were pretty dirty.
