Hilton Garden Inn Carlsbad Beach

It was a great location, right across from the beach. The sunsets from our room were magnificent.

It was centrally located and easy to get to.

There was noise coming from one of the hotel's equipment. I decided to cancel my reservation and moved to another hotel.

Pet friendly & wonderful service. They aren't giving out the chocolate chip cookies anymore but I would stay here again. Enjoyed a clean room, yummy breakfast, and friendly staff. Having the ocean view just across the street was the highlight of the overall great experience! Visit the Carlsbad Flower Fields while you're in the area. It's beautiful!

Liked the outdoor area. A lot of restaurants near by and it’s really close to the beach.

Booked ocean view room via Expedia but when I reached to the property to check in, reception desk lady tells me that they don’t have ocean view room available, after arguing little bit she said let me check and then suddenly room got available, Another issue I had was that water in the sink stink like a gutter water, when you leave it on little bit it gets better

I wish the property would post Please Be Quiet signs. Remind people that they're at a hotel, not their living room. The lack of consideration of the guests is not the hotel's fault but they could remind people to behave better. Just a thought. Otherwise, everything else was great.

Unfortunately, our stay was far from what we had hoped for. The walls were incredibly thin, and the rooms echoed, making it easy to hear every sound from neighboring guests. We were disturbed by loud noises from children running and slamming things above us, which not only disrupted our sleep but also caused our dog to bark at the sudden sounds. At one point, a neighbor even knocked on our door to complain about our dog. It felt as though we had no privacy or peace at all. We came to relax and escape, but instead, we didn’t get the restful experience we were expecting. Additionally, the pool was too cold to enjoy, and considering the gloomy weather, it really should have been heated. The restaurant experience was also disappointing. We ended up paying for breakfast, which we expected to be included, and it wasn’t worth the price. It felt like a basic continental breakfast that you usually get for free at hotels, yet we were charged $25 per person. The food was cold and of low quality, and the server kept hovering over us, which made the experience uncomfortable. Overall, we were really let down and didn’t get the relaxing getaway we were looking for.

We’ve stayed here twice now and will be booking again next time we’re in Carlsbad. Very nice, accommodating staff, clean and chic grounds across the street from the ocean. Highly recommend this hotel. Can’t go wrong.

A solid hotel option overall. My only reason for not rating this property higher is that our door was in need of repair upon arrival. It needed a strong shoulder to get open. Not ideal, but not the end of the world either. Some areas of the hotel are in need of updates, but it was clean. The staff were all very friendly as well. Proximity to downtown, Legoland, The Flower Fields, and Windmill Food Hall were all 10 mins or less. Great location for families.

Great hotel- location ideal and lots of amenities especially if traveling with kids Beds are super comfortable and great pillows. Shower excellent - quiet at night

The hotel is across the street from the beach, which was gr8. I asked for an ocean view, i was in a room on the 1st floor towards the ocean, could not really see it and the window you can barely see out of. The property is alittle run down. Needs a face lift. There is no room safe, no rack for luggage. Check in was at 3pm, we arrived at 3 and they said room was not ready, 40 min later...as we waited. The male at check was very nice , the female i spke to a couple of times not so friendly.

Nice and quiet. Only thing I don’t like about it. Charging $27.0 parking fee. Per day. That is little too much.

The facility was nice and decorated beautifully. However, the receptionist coded our keys wrong, the pool wasn’t heated (after we were told it was), the water in the sink smelled like sewer, the walls/roof were so thin - the people above were jumping and moving furniture around into the night.

Easily accessible location

I arrived at 3 to check in. Front desk told me my room would be ready in 15 minutes and that they would text me. I waited for an hour and a half only to come back to a full lobby and the gentleman who checked me in recognized me but didn’t acknowledge the issue. I waited in line and was given breakfast vouchers and upon giving the vouchers to the waitress was charged full price for our meals.

Nothing

Taking my kid to legoland, so wanted to be close-ish to the park. When i arrived waited around for frond desk to figure out why my room wasnt ready(1630). Ended up saying room wont be ready but sent me down the street to a sister resort with an upgrade. Was sent to Cape Rey and upon entry to my room just smelled like pee. Didnt want to have to wait and move all luggage to a new room, so i just asked if the staff can spray a deodorizer in the room.
