Holiday Inn GRAND RAPIDS - SOUTH, an IHG Hotel

The kiddie pool was under construction the sinks in my hotel room kept getting backed up. No sorry the would not let me cancel at once I found all this information out, nor would they give me a refund

Chose this hotel for their indoor kiddie pool playground per the photos. After we drove THREE HOURS for this amenity, we checked in (nothing was mentioned about the kiddie pool being closed at check-in) and got our kids ready for the pool. Found out when we got down to the pool which was covered with yellow caution tape that the entire kiddie pool area was closed and drained for construction. Desk clerk was 0% apologetic. Very very frustrating.

Love this place!!

I really liked the staff especially Tammy and Josh and Edna they were very polite a little comical it was very clean, breakfast was 👍

You won’t accept my well worded explanation

FALSE ADVERTISING! I booked this hotel based on the pictures of the beautiful pool area. We show up to swim with our kids, and the kid pool with slides is broken apart, water drained. Pool is gross, dark cloudy color, hair clumps floating in it. Rusted areas. Hot tub was disgusting as well. Despite this, my kids were still excited about the little splash pad area, so we stayed for a little bit and let them run around. I’ve been bamboozled!

Parking

Breakfast was not replenished. Coffee cups had no lids. Elevator was dirty as were the stairwells. Rooms were ok but not the cleanest.

The staff was amazing with our dance team!!

Mandatory damage deposit $100 and took 7 plus days for credit.

Kids pool closed, breakfast was horrible! Hard chewy sausage eggs and waffles! Half a roll of toilet paper.

The front desk attendant tried to her best woth a faulty card reader and was very friendly

Nice hotel, helpful staff and nice renovations. Room was clean and well stocked.

Not up to Holiday Inn "standards". Some areas have been updated and are nice, others areas were dirty and not up to par. They could have an amazing swim area but the equipment definitely needs some updating/improvements. Also, be advised they charge $5.00 per person for breakfast....we paid and regretted it, had to ask for oj, milk, and additional things to be filled. Some of the staff does not speak English. Our room was clean but above the shower was full of mold, fan did not work, sink did not drain correctly :(

Breakfast was supposed to be included had to get vouchers and all hot food was cold and hot water was cold waiter brought more hot water and it was only barely warm

Bathroom flooded. Took for an hour to get help and to get moved to another room. I understand being short staff but that does not fall on customers. I was traveling with my 2 year old daughter it was just super inconvenient and the response from the hotel was delayed and frustrating. I waited for someone to come and that took away from experience water area with my family and with time being limited it all just snowballed. Hopefully hotel takes accountability

This was way too expensive for the product provided. Room was dirty with dirty sheets and pillows. Couch caved into the middle. Carpet was dirty. Room was incredibly noisy and we were woken up multiple times through the night. Would not recommend.
