Holiday Inn WILKES BARRE - EAST MOUNTAIN by IHG, an IHG Hotel

We always enjoy staying in Holiday Inns.

Kids in hot tub when its even maked no one under 16.

I checked in on and was informed that the hotel was going through renovations and that the water would be turned off between 10pm- 4am I even asked to reassure that it would be back on by 4am answer was yes. Ok cool. Got to my room and noticed that the carpet was really stained and gross along with the walls. Whatever it was only for one night fine good they are trying to fix it up. I get up at 3:30 to get my day going for work and I go over to fix a cup of coffee and a roach crawled out from the machine! Well now I am freaked out and I am trying to figure out where it went and if there are others it finally came back out crawling on the wall and I finally exterminated it. So now I am full panic mode to GTFO! I shake out all my belongings and shoes, go to the bathroom and the water was on! But it was ice cold! I let the faucet run for a while and it didn’t get warm. I even went over to the sink to see if I could get anything warm from there nothing but ice cold water. All I could do was wash my hair with freezing cold water before I headed out for my work meeting. I have never had such a horrible experience ever in an overnight stay anywhere and I will never ever stay a Holiday Inn ever again!

The stay was superb and I would definitely stay again if in that area.

The room was very clean. It was so quiet at night. The breakfast was amazing! I highly recommend this hotel!

I have stayed in Wilkes Barre before and wanted to switch locations. Not a great choice. We arrived and the front desk representative just had this weird creepy smile but whatever. The hotel is under construction in which a sign is at the door but if I had known this I would have not chosen to stay here. We was given a room and it had a foul smell, like dampness or mold. The carpet looks worn out and something you just would not walk barefoot on. The bathroom cabinets was scrapped up or just old wood not sure but I went back to the front desk to ask for another room. That was granted. It look a slight bit better but no smell. The carpet looked like the other room, definitely time to pull those up. Just eliminate carpets all together as they hold dirt and smells my suggestion. The pool area is big enough seating and the hot tub is a nice size. They also have a sauna (amazing). They do have a restaurant which may be a good choice if you don't feel like going out and it is much convenient because dinning in the area is about 10 mins away. There is only a gas station that is walking distance. They do have plenty of outdoor space if you just want to sit outdoors.

Hotel is under renovation until October 2025. No working toilet or running water on our check in night. Notice should have been provided at booking stage.

It was ok … Hotel room smelled a bit musty , told the front desk and they did nothing and told us they had no other rooms available ..

No water overnight, tiny bar of soap, tiny shampoo and conditioner and top didn’t work correctly, thin towels,!terrible taste tv choices.

They had a water check for the two nights I stayed and I had bad stomachache and wanted to shower but the water was coming out brown and had to let it run for a few minutes before I could pour some water on me and only a little bit of water was coming out also they’re was a fire alarm that was going off for at least 15 minutes my ears and head was hurting I had to go outside and the firefighters never came I am not satisfied with this stay!

The staff was amazing. the actual property could use an upgrade

I brought my grandkids to this location and they absolutely loved the pool and the restaurant area. This is definitely a family friendly place!

We had to change rooms before we even go there due to renovations. Then, when we got there our room was 76 and the thermostat did not work at all through the night. We had to change rooms again the next day. We received a voucher for free breakfast, but it was not enough.

The first room we were assigned to had mold on the ceiling. They changed rooms for us and the second one was fine. The hotel is undergoing renovations so hope they clear out the mold.
