Homewood Suites by Hilton Richmond-Downtown

Arrived at 3.30p told room not ready had to wait itill gone 4p to get into room. Finally hit into room put clothes away used toilet went to the bar in the top floor and when we came back the toilet had flooded the room from a leak under the toilet. Went to reception and they gave us another room so had to move all clothes etc. not sure why if they had another room they didn’t give us this one in the first place when checked in. Frequently no staff at reception in back office had to wait till decided to cone out. Had to wait about 20 minutes when checking out for the housekeeping staff to find someone but did have a notice to say stepped away to help another customer. On the second day housekeeping came changed the sheets on the bed and they smelled musky hubby didn’t want me to say anything. No pool in hotel as previously shown on details said it was permanently closed down.

Air conditioning in our room did not work, was a miserable night. Breakfast wasn't great.

The air conditioning did not work in our room, and all of the rooms were booked, which prevented us from transferring rooms. The staff were very attentive and responded to the request, but we didn't get much sleep.

Solid 20 Hour Stay

Check in was a breeze. The beds were amazing. Breakfast scores a 4 out of 5.

We always enjoy staying at Homewood Suites and this particular branch is no exception. The room was very clean, very spacious, have all that we need for a short stay, staff friendly, elevators fast, fellow guests were very nice and respectful, area is safe, very close to where we needed to go. Thank you for our wonderful stay!

Room thermostat doesn’t work

Parking too crowded.

That unit was immaculately clean and bass were comfy. The breakfast was convenient and exceeded expectations

I never received the non-feather pillows I requested. The in-room safe did not work and maintenance was unable to fix it. Two of the four light switches in the suite did not work. Electronics charging station was missing from the suite as well. Breakfast selection was more limited than last time we visited. Danish and bagels were nearly stale.

I had to go to the neighboring Hampton Inn due to A/C problems at the Homewood Suites. I cannot log into WiFi since I am registered at Homewood Suites, and Homewood Suites is not listed as a WiFi option. Only Hampton Inn shows up as a WiFi option, and my name is not found as a registered guest. The room is ok, but I had booked a suite with separate sitting area and a kitchen area at Homewood Suites. At Hampton Inn I am in a simple hotel room. I am very disappointed with this since I expected a more luxurious accommodation, and I brought food to have dinner in my room. As I had to park in a neighboring garage I cannot bring in all of my things. I use a cane, and also cannot carry heavy items without a luggage cart.

Great room space, very clean and excellent staff. The AC in our room want working and they immediately changed our room. Very Happy with everything.

Our room was huge compared to our other hotel stays. The bed was super comfortable. The bathroom seemed a bit tired, but was clean and in working order. The location was perfect for what we came to the city to do. The staff was pleasant and helpful.

Good location but cold showers were not enjoyable. Rooftop bar is closed due to construction.

Picked hotel off location to a venue for a show. Originally booked a different hotel who was not accommodating to our party size. This hotel was able to easily accommodate us and was a much better price! Great location, staff was friendly facilities were clean. I'd stay here again for sure!

The hot water on the 11th floor went out. It took over an hour to get fresh towels.

Room was not cleaned

Air conditioning didn’t work. No hot water in shower.

The suite was spacious. The television in the living room didn't work. The toilet ran loudly all night. The shower drained very slowly causing you to have standing water during your shower. The sink water had terrible flow--only a tiny stream of water. The sofa in the living room was uncomfortable. The bedding was uncomfortable. The parking was challenging because we got in later at night and all spaces were basically gone. I worried about where my SUV was parked. We were only staying two nights and were away from the hotel all day on Saturday. It wasn't worth complaining about since we were leaving early on Sunday. Room 918.

Our stay was comfortable, and the room was clean. The area was a little deserted on the weekends, with not a lot close-by for dining and evening things to do. But it did feel safe. Our biggest issues were parking and hot water. We were charged $25 a day for parking, but the garage was full! It was so full that people were parking in aisles not designated as spaces! Our second issue was that for our second day of our stay we had no hot water. We had to take cold showers all day. We checked out that day, so we have no idea how long the problem persisted for, but it was definitely the entire day of our second day.
