Awesome rooms but they need to fix the major roof leaks

Beautiful property. Unfortunately, we experienced quite wet conditions on the property due to the rain.

This property is in a great location for walking to everything. The layout of the hotel is weird. We chose this location because it was dog friendly. The rooms were okay; however the elevators and common areas were filthy. It’s not a hotel I would personally go back to. In addition, we had an issue with tenants in the room next door,.. it ended in a verbal altercation and them being removed, due to the nose at 4AM.

It started off great. Until the hotel rented to someone at 3am. Then the party started and ended with a violent screaming match which left us terrified and awake with fear. We called the police who cam and removed them but unfortunately hotels.com didn’t think that warrants a refund and since the hotel recommended we went through a 3rd party because its cheaper we ended up cutting our trip short because we were exhausted after the horrible night sleep.

We stayed at this hotel for four days, and it was good except for the last night. Our neighbors next door had a party until 1 a.m. with their door open and a bunch of people in the room. I called the front desk twice, but nobody came to tell them to at least close their door. Our two little kids couldn’t sleep and this definitely ruined our experience there.

The room on bottom floor was well appointed except traffic noise was pretty loud. There were no USB outlets and bathroom ceiling lites were unfinished. Very clean and great linens.

Enjoyed my stay, as always. Wish the continental breakfast was as good as it was in the past but willing to forego for everything else.

Very cute architecture. Walking distance to restaurants and shops. One negative was that the temperature of the water in the shower/bathtub was hard to regulate; as we were using it, the water got hotter and hotter and all of a sudden went cold so we kept having to adjust. We were on the 2nd floor with our patio on the street side and got a lot of street noise, which we didn’t mind (but it might not be preferred for those who need total quiet for sleep).

My wife and I are celebrating our honeymoon and we love this hotel! We were greeted by Ana, at the front desk, with a smile and a cheerful attitude. The rooms are very comfortable and the fireplace in the room gives it an extra romantic experience!! This is our go to place whenever we are in Monterey. We highly recommend staying here you won’t be disappointed.

Great location. Needs to be updated and cleaned up but we would stay here again for the right price. We had upstairs room with balcony, super high ceiling, gas fireplace. We did not see what the ground floor rooms looked like. One block from downtown Monterey. 5 minute walk to wharf. 20 minute walk to Cannery Row.

The room was really nice. I was a little concerned because they didnt have many potty areas for my dog. I think it would have been a little easier it wasnt raining. The walls were really thing and i could hear the people above me pacing the whole room for extended periods of time...

We've stayed several times prior to the conversion to Hilton (from Best Western). A couple of notable things are the new showers, which only open on the showerhead end and tend to flood the bathroom for some reason, despite best efforts - and the truly odd coffeemaker. I know it's meant to be artsy with the angled coffee mugs that are the only cup you can use with this nespresso machine, but the machine is weird and only puts out a tablespoon or two, even if you select the larger icon. I ended up holding the button down to override this and I'm sure that's not good for the machine. But the coffee isn't good either, so not really a loss. Also, it MAY be unique to Room 132, but there is a LOUD and constant airflow howl at the door, presumable from the HVAC? I ended up laying a rolled bath towel in front of the door to stop it, which worked fine. It may just be that the door sweep needs to be a LOT lower, since there's a good deal of daylight showing when the door is closed. On the plus side, the place is clean, staff is great and grounds are well kept. I don't remember if I had to pay for parking and breakfast before (don't believe so), but there's a charge now. I love the fireplace, and the adorable 10 minute duraflame... glad to have had pre-knowledge and brought my own normal sized duraflame logs to enjoy! Overall it's still good, but I may look around for another place to call favorite.

Great location and a comfortable stay. The hotel is a bit dated and the breakfast could vary from day to day.
