I prefer this location for business meetings when I'm in Santa Barbara. It is upscaled, clean, and has friendly staff. It is priced a little higher than preferred but within walking distance of my meeting.

Had a lovely stay at this property. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel is under renovation, and has an alternate entrance. Due to this guests must walk around the back side of the building in order to access the elevator. We ended up getting a lot of exercise up and down the stairs to the forth floor. Our room was newly redone, and was very clean and comfortable. There was some noise issues, both from inside and outside the hotel. A dog barking in the next room and loud car stereos on the street, for example.
Overall 5 stars - Great staff and comfortable room. Would return to the Santa Barbara

Although the property was under remodel, it was still fairly easy to get around. The property is very clean and located in the best spot of Santa Barbara. It’s extremely dog friendly and my Goldens also enjoyed there stay! The rooms were big and spacious! Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Santa Barbara. No Pet fee either!

Hotel was under going major renovations — which we weren’t made aware of until AFTER booking. The room, hallways, and surrounding areas were very nice, however the construction made it a hassle to get around — especially with luggage. They put our car in valet parking and took our keys like a valet service, but did nothing but hand our keys back to us when we went to pickup our car and then looked at me like they expected a tip. I had to run out in the rain to even get the employees attention! Beautiful hotel but the experience there was a disappointment.

The hotel is newly updated, rooms are new and nicely appointed - well decorated. The lobby is still under construction as of 2/10/25. This is inconvenient.
Location is amazing, on the south end of State Street - many many restaurants, bars, shops within easy walking distance.
The windows in the hotel don't open. Our room was small and felt a bit claustrophobic, since the windows won't open. Santa Barbara is so beautiful, it's an annoyance that the windows don't open.
Parking is only by valet, which is also annoying, with a frequent need to get the car, tip the valet, turn the car back in. This is probably typical of valet only hotels, so maybe to be expected.
So overall an amazing location, updated, but we likely wouldn't stay there again.

Lobby was closed for Construction. Had to use a separate entrance. Very noisy during the day. The worst: An Eardrum piercing Fire alarm kept going off, at least 5 times while we were in the hotel- scared my dog terribly! We thought it was over, then it started again. Normally calm dog, was shaking. We left her alone in the room while we went to our son’s wedding at the courthouse. Hoping it did not go off while she was alone! Nice area, walkable to restaurants and shops. convenient area. Maybe our timing for the stay was poor. Probably would be nicer after the construction is completed.

I was perfect. Staff and employees were exemplary. The reason I gave a low rating for service is that it was impossible to contact the front desk after I returned home to request a receipt. AI or phone tree hell. I gave up. I recommend always provide an easy way to speak to a real person.
