Hotel Zico

Stayed at least a half dozen times before this stay. The room I was in needs a refresh badly. Needs a deep cleaning and fresh paint.

Overall a good place to stay for business trips, the only thing is that the rooms are not very sound proof, I can hear the shower running, foot steps from upstairs.

We have stayed in many hotels in the Sunnyvale/Mountain View area when visiting our grandchildren. Many of them are very expensive so we wondered about this hotel which was very reasonably priced. We were very pleased with the comfort of the room, the ease of parking, and the breakfast which was basic but included hot outmeal. We will return.

Good check in, clean room, easy check out

The building was attractive and in very good condition and nicely decorated in an up to date style, with good amenities in the room. Property was very quiet despite being next to a freeway and all sorts of retail and eating places were within walking distance, as is an interurban trail next to it. Staff was very friendly and the continental breakfast was ample for a continental breakfast. Only suggestion is maybe housekeeping should wear hairnets -- found a few hairs on the floor in the bathroom.

I stayed here on a business trip and was pleased with the hotel. The staff was very attentive. This is no five star hotel, but it’s a very nice place to stay, and I would come again. The continental breakfast bar could use some protein.

The property is good and the staff were very nice! The heaters in the room were very loud.

Nice staff and good little breakfast. Bathroom was a bit small and guest above our room was awkwardly pacing around at 3am and kept us awake for a while. Overall a good place to stay.

Front desk staff is not always the friendliest, but the cleaning staff was very friendly and service-oriented. The hotel is cute and the furniture is on the older side. Great value.

Nice and clean

I would rank the Hotel Rico as a three to four star hotel. I have stayed at Motel 6 Sunnyvale, Travel Inn, Sunnyvale, and Vagabond Inn, Sunnyvale and nothing compares to the Hotel Zico. The room that I stayed in was repainted and improved. I was quite impressed. The guests next to me even though they talked it their voices were muffled. The same heater/air conditioning unit as Motel 6 South in Sunnyvale. You'll notice that close to the front entrance of your room there's a closet they put the microwave, refrigerator, and ironing board. It may seem quite small to put them in there but it's ideal. The restrooms were clean repainted. What I didn't like was the four bar towel rack which swivels that was located over the toilet and if your towel accidentally fell, it would go rinto the toilet. Not a problem because you can push the towel rack towards the tub. Beautiful restroom sink. When I first walked into the room I was elated as nothing compares. The landscape before you go into the lobby is beautiful with a water fountain. The only bad thing is people were smoking skunk weed. The lobby is fantastic. Near the lobby is a weight room with treadmills. Compared to Extended Stay America that is right next door. That is one thing that I saw at the Extended Stay America the homeless walking about not at the Hotel Rico. There are reviews that say there are dilapidated rooms. A person I know stayed there said that there are old rooms but I got a refurbish one. I recommend

Room was clean and nicely decorated.

I didn't like the stale vaping/smoke smells throughout but the free breakfast options were nice and it is hard to beat the price. I would definitely recommend beyond the smell issue.

Hotel was a bit old looking but also showed signs of remodeling. It was an okay hotel. Parking was free which was a plus. rooms did not smell which is a plus. But some cons was that there was rust present throughout different areas and the bed sheets did not fully cover the bed.
