La Quinta Inn by Wyndham Lynnwood

This was our third stay at this property. This time was not as good. We had to call for assistance with the TV remote, which really only needed new batteries. The lovely gal who came to help didn't bring batteries - she brought a new remote. That was fine, except it didn't work to turn the TV off, so we had to call her back, and initially we were told it was "too late at night," despite being a mother/daughter combo (so, safe). She was able to turn it off, but then it wouldn't turn ON the next morning. Couldn't win! Also the lighted mirror in the sink area didn't light up enough - we had to brush our teeth virtually in the dark. While the room was very clean, and we like the location and staff, this particular stay wasn't without issues.

When I booked this hotel for 1 night on Expedia, I made the request to have a high floor on a quiet side as I’m a light sleeper. When I checked in online directly with the hotel, I noted the same room request. I completely understand that my request isn’t guaranteed. When I went to front desk right in check in time at 3pm, I was given room 118, a room on the first floor closest to the front desk and breakfast dining room. I feel it’s one of the worst rooms given the location. I could hear the front desk talking to customers from the room. I texted asking if there was another room I could switch to and they offered an upgrade at a minimum $10 extra. I declined after discussing with my partner as we thought it might be quieter at night. The room was pretty quiet later in the night. At 2am, there was a woman yelling from another room. Not the fault of the hotel and it eventually stopped after a few minutes. At 6am when breakfast started, I could hear constant noise from customers eating breakfast. It wasn’t a restful night. I’m not sure if I got this room because I didn’t book directly with the hotel and the hotel didn’t seem that busy. A lot of positives: room was clean, had a microwave and small fridge, free coffee and water in the lobby, a good complimentary breakfast, nice size pool and hot tub, small gym with free weights, a Peloton, and a few other machines. Front desk staff I interacted with was efficient but not very friendly. Wouldn’t stay again due to the noise.

The hotel is good, clean and remodeled. Only complaint is about the $25 surcharge to check-in early (btw 1 and 3) even if a room is available. Most competitors don’t do this.

Very rude and third class hotel

First room had a crusty material on sheets and hair on the floor of bathroom. We changed rooms. Next room had blood on bedding and a broken bed. They were very nice and attempted to remedy issues immediately.

My only complain would be the beds. The sleep quality wasn't as great as I hoped. The breakfast options were ok, but not as good as what we are used to. So most likely I will not come here again. We booked the La Quinta Inn in Los Angles and it was a day and night difference.

Rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very good and convenient. Front desk staff at checkin were very helpful.

The swimming pool was wonderful. Staff was amazing. No complaints

Hotel is clean and tidy. However, our room door was not closed after room cleaning one day during our 4-night stay. The cleaning lady also forgot to put back 2 clean small towels and replace facial tissue same day. The lady at reception when we checked-in had a blank face, but others are fine. Electricity suddenly went out 2 nights when we were in the room. Reception staff were helpful and helped us reset everything quickly. It seems 2 rooms on the same floor always have such problem, especially when someone uses air dryer or microwave oven. Breakfast is ok - yoghurt, cereal, egg, sausage, orange juice, apple, orange, muffin, bagel, toast, waffle, tea and coffee. There is parking space. Hotel location is close to light rail and there is a Japanese restaurant and doughnut shop close-by. There are more restaurants at about 10-minute walking distance. Hotel charges USD100 deposit for incidental and refunds when check-out. However, guess it takes sometime to get back the refund. My credit card transaction shows the charge quickly but does not show any refund even 4 days after check-out, so still waiting and will see.
