Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Greenville/University Medic

This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. We would have left except we'd just left the hospital at 11:30pm. We did not think we could find another that late. The soap smelled like lye, there was no trash can in the bathroom, the tub dripped constantly, there were holes in the bathroom door, the smell of cigarettes and chemicals were less in a room on the second floor, which the front desk person was kind enough to offer, but the conditions were over all were deplorable.

Our room had a strange odor, the bathroom door was falling off the hinges and would not close, our room was not cleaned during our stay, the hallway carpets are stained and dirty, there were piles of garbage by the elevator, the ice machine did not work, this place is mid at best

The lobby was a mess and still had the Christmas decorations on the coffee, an old sitcom was playing on the tv. The stairs were carpeted and looked to not have been vacuumed in some time. The room was far but the air conditioner was full of dust.

Nice property

I arrived to a decrepit property which does not match the pictures. On seeing my room I noticed signs of bedbug infestation on the mattress cover. I asked for a different room. That room had the bottom of the mattress torn up and traps out. Surfaces in both rooms were not wiped down. I asked for a refund. I was told they would be glad to give me a refund. I left and got a different hotel. It has been a week and I do not have my refund. I had paid for a week upfront, stayed 0 nights, and still they try to hold on to it. The management dodges calls and attempts to claim they are not the manager unless confronted with the knowledge of the managers working hours. This is what I get for trying to be nice and resolve things amicably. You are better off sleeping in your car than here.

Finding the place was difficult as no sign was at the road or on the building. Also a sub sandwich shop is right in the middle of their parking lot.

I visit this hotel quite frequently and it seems that every time I come it gets worse. This time, the fitness center was closed, the ice machine on the first floor didn't work so I had to go to the 3rd floor and in the breakfast area the juice machine was broken (that's more often than not) and no eggs were available. That is the ONLY thing I can eat as I'm on a Keto diet. I understand eggs are more expensive right now, but you certainly have not adjusted your nightly rates based on all of these issues.

The room was very dirty and the bed mattress was stained. Look like bed bug stains. We only stayed one of the two nights that we booked. We are now fighting to get our second night refunded.

I want to first say that the staff were all very friendly and accommodating - especially the gentleman that checked us in that night. The hotel is very worn down. We had to switch rooms when we first checked in because our original room had no safety lock on the door. The kind gentleman at the front desk was very apologetic and sweet. All ice machines were broken and the door to the bathroom would not close as it was half broken. The pillows were so uncomfortable and lumpy and the mattress pad on one of the beds had filthy stains. This hotel with its friendly staff has a lot of potential but really needs a lot of updating and deep cleaning and they need to fix all the broken things in their rooms. For what I was charged ($193 for one night), I expected much much more. No coffee makers in the rooms and it stunk like cigarette smoke even though the rooms are non smoking. No comment on the complimentary breakfast as I checked out the next morning and didn’t visit that area.
