What Guests Say About Their Stay

We loved staying in the iconic Duluth hotel. The view was amazing. Breakfast was delicious in the rotating restaurant. Only critique is that the pool area could use some plants and decor to liven it up. It really feels outdated and brings the overall experience down. But otherwise a fun experience to stay there.

Sorry, to hear it is up for sale, so enjoyed the rotating restaurant, but needs to be renovated.

I remember staying at this property over 10 years ago and liking it. Unfortunately I don't think much has been done to maintain it over the years. The location is nice, employees were kind, and the bedding was comfortable. But for the price, i would not return. The water temperature varied so much during a shower you could hardly take a shower, the air handling in the room was so noisy, housekeeping was only offered every 5 days, and the hot tub out of service.

The Good: The view from the harbor 360 rotating restaurant and the staff were polite and helpful. The Bad: where do I start?.. the double queen room was cramped, the sheet's weren’t cleaned, the carpet had coffee grounds on it from a previous guest, the bathroom has no fan, the hot tub was broken, there’s no bathroom anywhere near the pool, you have to go all the way down the stairs and down another hall so I’m pretty sure most kids and adults just pee in the pool, no access to drinking water!? And lastly, the parking garage was disgusting looking and smelling and extremely small spaces and clearance of 6’.

Towels were dirty when we arrived. No Kleenex in the Kleenex box, there was only 1/4 roll of toilet paper left on the roll and no extra rolls. The a/c stopped working so the room got super warm, the maintenance came to fix it while we were out and just shut it off completely so when we returned it was more the 90 degrees in the room. A/c still didn’t work, so they had us switch rooms to another room with the a/c also not really working but we were tired so dealt with it for one night. The beds are more on the firm side which is not the greatest on my back. I would not recommend this hotel. Needs major updates.

Pros: Good location, excellent food in rotating dining room, helpful and professional servers, retro decor in original round tower building Cons: There was a water leak in the closet that soaked our shoes and some clothing - stinky, yuck. Also - we supposedly had reserve parking in the hotel lot, but coming back at 10:00 pm on July 4th, after a long day of biking / hiking, we found absolutely zero parkiing spots available. It was obvious that almost 1/2 of the cars there were not people staying in the hotel, as they did not have the required pink parking pass. We assumed people had parked there to watch the fireworks, so waited an hour. But then, realized NO ONE was coming back to move their cars - they were staying for the live music, party, etc. On our 2nd trip to the front desk, the guy on duty finally told us about an overflow parking lot - almost two hours after we waited and waited for a spot to open up. Not cool.

Hotel is dated and definitely needs updating. Stained comforter, which they replaced when we asked for new. Carpet looked like it hadn’t been vacuumed and cobwebs in window. A little concerning seeing a vehicle in the parking garage with a broken window & glass everywhere…had been broken into. We reported to front desk.

The room was okay; the Harbor360 restaurant was a joke. It wasnt rotating, two staff working and we were basically told to order off the code on the table and they were out of everything we tried to order. When we got up to leave no apologies- got the feeling they were happy to see us go somewhere else.

The restaurant was fabulous, but they need to hire more staff. Convenient location. The bath tub needed to be cleaned. Ring of rust around the bath tub drain.

This hotel is in a great location. Very walkable to restaurants, coffee shops, and Bayfront Park. The rooms are comfortable and the bathrooms have surprisingly good water pressure. They only have two elevators and only one was working. The soundproofing from the hall isn't the greatest, as you can clearly hear conversations and other doors closing. Overall, a decent place to stay.

While the room was moderate at best and the location is great for walking to Bayfront Park, the rest of our stay was not great. The parking ramp is scary and likely not code compliant, same goes with the elevators. The entire hotel has a musty, dirty smell and is very dated and worn. The once beautiful restaurant at the top of the hotel is now in very rough shape and appears to serve only fried food and smells worse than the rest of the hotel, if that is possible. The worst part is that my husband woke up with his eyes swollen, likely from dust mites or pet dander. We could not wait to depart and will never stay again.

Busy 4th of July/concert weekend- there was 1 staff checking-in at 3pm so long wait. Both elevators were extremely slow and 1 finally stopped working altogether. Our room was mostly clean except the Keurig machine was filthy. The bathroom was in desperate need of cleaning, the tub and floor by the tub were so bad that I didn't shower. The grout was moldy and some was missing. UPDATE needed for the entire place.

Location is amazing and staff were friendly, however… This property is in urgent need of a thorough safety review and upgrades to the elevator, plumbing, bathroom exhaust, and HVAC systems. Blocking stairwells with everything from brooms to kitchen bins is unsafe - especially in a 15 story tower with clearly unreliable elevators. Damp carpeting around individual hotel rooms’ HVAC units, whether from rain or condensation, is a clear mold concern. The property needs a variety of cosmetic updates, but the safety issues really need attention.
