Red Lion Hotel Redding

This is the most rubbish hotel I have ever stayed in. When I entered the room, there were fingernails on the bedside table and a big spider web on the ceiling. Breakfast doesn't seem to belong to the hotel, it seems to be outsourced to private people, and it tastes terrible. It's just rubbish. What impressed me the most was a staff member at the front desk, whose name was Ricky. He was very nice, friendly and patient. Your hotel has such staff, which is your greatest treasure.

Location was good. Wifi was frustrating as it kept kicking me off after a few minutes. It was clean, but you can tell that many corners were cut (costco krikland kcups for coffee). Bar closes early, but it was nice. Staff were friendly. Keys worked each time and parking was good.

Been coming here for years. Great place to stop and cool down by the pool.

Great location, easy check in. Average room . Floor dirty and pink mold in shower. Good water pressure.

Love the pool and staff wish breakfast was longer and the rooms were cleaner

Room is dirty, towels are dirty, bed covers dirty. Special towels are still stained on it. The smell of the room is like mold. Under the bed not cleaned at all. Over all need to be closed

The front desk staff were polite and the room was very quiet. The hallway carpet was dirty and there were scuff marks and scratches on the base boards and walls. In my guest room, the heating/air vent had an accumulation of dust, the shower still had the previous guest’s hair on the wall, and the ceiling had random patches of paint that didn’t match in color or finish. The flooring didn’t feel clean under foot, so I washed my feet and wore shoes for the entirety of my stay. The hotel definitely needs a refresh, and some attention to detail would be appreciated from guests.

The entire building, as well as our non-smoking room, has an unbearable cigarette smell. The facilities were in fairly sad shape; broken hot tub, dirty pool. They seemed to be very understaffed, and I felt terrible for the lone front desk person who kept getting yelled at by everyone in line in front of us. The phones just kept ringing and ringing because there was apparently only one person working at the whole place, so I had to wait in line for 30 minutes to request an extra towel.

I like that I was able to check in earlier I didn’t like that I was charged for it if I had known I’d be charged I would have walked around the mall till 3pm

Wow, this place was terrifying! Everything inside just felt really icky and dark. The carpet in the hallway was outdated and dirty looking. Trimmings around our door were rotting at the bottom. There was lots of dirt inside of cracks and seams between the floorboards in our room. Our room had a strange smell, like someone had been smoking, but it was covered up with heavy fragrance. Nighttime staff who checked us in was super unfriendly. The people who were in the room next to us checked in at midnight and were very loud. I called the front staff to ask them to talk to them and I think they did because they did get quieter, but I could hear their actual words through the walls and their alarm in the morning at 6 AM. Maybe the walls are just so thin!? All of those are somewhat minor details that made it uncomfortable, but the worst part is how unsafe it felt. We were traveling with our dogs and so I had to walk them around to go to the bathroom before bed. There were two separate people sitting in their cars. One was definitely nodding out from drugs and the other one just looked really drunk. There was a group of guys smoking weed around the corner. I have really large dogs and so I felt protected, but it creeped me out to be walking around so late with all of this unattended activity going on in the parking lot. I don’t know if it’s just a bad part of town but I would not stay here again especially with kids.The breakfast, though was very good! One redeeming quality!

Extremely slow check-in, dirty room upon check-in. Poor heating and cooling system. Keys kept failing. Overall poor stay.

Love it!

Pool was very nice and kid friendly. Breakfast food was sub par. Loved walking to good dining restaurants.

Air conditioner on all night and noisy couldn’t turn it off ruined my sleep!

A wonderful stay as always

Our family stayed here for two nights. We had a nice large 2 queen bed room which was nice and spacious for our family of 5. The pool was great and my kids enjoyed swimming there. I most likely will not stay here again because it did feel a little dingy due to the age of the hotel and although the rooms are “no smoking” now you can still smell the lingering odor. It wasn’t enough to be a constant nuisance but it was definitely noticeable upon arrival when you walked into the hallways or rooms.

Red Lion hotels have lost their purpose. All run down with no interest in quality. Very disappointing. Posted photos misleading.

Not in the best area and the hotel in general is a lot older.
