Residence Inn by Marriott Indianapolis Downtown on the Canal

Amazing location, walking distance to the main attractions. Beautiful canal view. One of the better breakfast selections too! Had to switch rooms one night into our 3 night stay. The hotel staff was more than accomidatung to help us get to a quieter room.

Loved that it was right on the canal where we could walk away from traffic and enjoy some nature . Food was great and service excellent .

I am very disappointed in this hotel. Although the staff was very friendly, I would not recommend this hotel. I showed up just after midnight, the gentleman at the front desk gave me the keys to my room. Went up to the room and could not get in. Had to go back to the desk, he gave me keys to a different room. The room was very dated and had a moldy smell to it. The white doors were filthy, the walls looked like they were getting patched and the bathroom walls looked like it had water damage. The next day I got a call from the front desk and they told me I was in the wrong room, the lady walked me to the correct room and let me in, there was someone already in this room. Then she brought me to a third room. This was finally where I stayed. The next day the TV wasn’t working and the very helpful maintenance man said it was because there was a crane blocking the satellite dish on the roof. The cable came back on the next day. The last two days were fine. Great staff but the hotel needs a lot of attention.

Has some minuses. Like an elevator. But it’s nice clean in a good spot.

The room was very nice. Large with a full kitchen. Only negative was the pullout sofa bed was very uncomfortable. The attached walkway on the canal is so nice to take a stroll through. It was winter when I went but it was still nice. I want to stay again in the summer. I would definitely recommend.

Didn’t care for the $30 charge to park. That surprised me. Also, the heavy bushes on the outside towards New York Avenue provide a very dark space and little view from any direction. Guest protection could be difficult in that space. Overall price was not a good value.

Overall, a good experience. Property was in decent shape and staff was very friendly. Breakfast was good variety and refreshed on a frequent basis.

Very quiet, nice place walking distance to restaurant grocery

Located extremely close to downtown Indianapolis. The room was very clean. My only issue is that parking is $30/day. Doesn't seem right to charge for parking

Loved the room. Floor was quiet. Not a lot of space in the breakfast area to accomodate the amount of guests staying.

The property it's self looked nice but it is in need of both tlc and repair. Specifically the elevator and the hotel rooms need of repair. I would not recommend the property to others due to its age and needs. Staff was friendly and helpful. It was safe and easy to walk from and back to. So location was the draw. For selection but will not stay in the Future.

Not much next to this hotel so getting anything you need like groceries or a meal is a real pain- if you don’t have a car. Hotel is worn, tired carpets and hallways. No bar or small meals available unless you walk to the next hotel over and they have a very basic set up and the food isn’t good. The room space is large and there’s an empty fridge. 😃 wouldn’t stay there again as there are other hotels nearer to what’s going on with more amenities.

Very good breakfast and friendly staff. The mattress is a bit soft . The bathtub needs to be changed as it looks old. Kitchen is convenient but there was no kettle so we had to go get hot water in the lobby and it ran out twice. Location is good : 5-10 minutes walk to the convention center and downtown, grocery and restaurants. The canal walk is enjoyable. We had a good stay.
