Sleep Inn & Suites Kingsport TriCities Airport

We needed a simple, safe, clean and quiet room for a late night arrival and early next morning departure, and that’s exactly what we got! This hotel is not fancy but clean and well-kept, and the breakfast was plentiful and just fine. A very good value for the charge!

Let me start by saying that this was our first visit to the state of Tennessee. I was traveling to surprise my mother and brother, who live in Virginia, so I wasn't quite sure how far we would need to drive. We ended up driving 1 hour and 35 minutes each way during the six days we were in town. After our second day at the Sleep Inn, I decided to contact Expedia, which then spoke with the general manager, Pennie Ratliff, about changing our stay dates. The general manager immediately declined our request. During our stay, we encountered several issues. The first room we had on the first floor had security concerns and cleanliness problems. When I inquired about the room cleaning, I was shocked to learn that the Sleep Inn only cleans rooms every three days. I’ve never stayed at a hotel with such infrequent cleaning—it's quite unusual! Additionally, our first room was next to a back exit door that remained unlocked 24 hours a day. This door was very noisy when it slammed shut, and it also meant that anyone could walk into the building. After that, we asked to be moved to another room. When we arrived at that new room, it was only half cleaned (see pictures below). To reduce the back-and-forth driving, we decided to stay with my brother for one night. However, upon returning to the hotel the next day, our keys would not work for our room. My husband went to the front desk, only to be told that someone had closed out our room! We still had one more day before check-out.

We only stayed one night but it was absolutely amazing. We needed peace and quiet because we were exhausted and this place was great. Breakfast was amazing!!

The person at check in was rude and indifferent. No customer skills at all. I thought the room would make up for the first impression but it didn't. There was hair in the bedroom and the mattress was very hard. I am not sure if the carpet has been vacuumed but I know for sure no one has dusted in a while. My reservation was for two nights but I only stayed one. Would not recommend and will never go back!

The room was clean and well maintained. Free breakfast was just that, free.

The photos on the website is not the room we were given. Our room was out of date, dirty, musty and had a weird smell. I had to clean the toilet seat before we were able to use it. I was not comfortable in this room at all. I would not stay here again.

The room was very humid when we got there and the AC unit did not fully cool the room down. There was a hair on the toilet when we got there as well. The sink wasn’t draining either and there was a very foul odor/strong sewage smell coming from the toilet

Was told by person at the desk that the manager cancelled my reservation because I was considered a “local” I live 60 miles away from the hotel and booked a room there because it’s the closest to the airport and my wife had a 6am flight

Yesterday, we were trying to make a reservation in the Tri-Cities of Washington State.  Instead we got a reservation for the Tri-Cities in Tennessee!  Both places have a Sleep Inn!  The woman at the front desk at the Sleep Inn at Pasco, WA, said this has happened several times before!  We tried to switch the two hotels and we could not.  We called the other Sleep Inn in Tennessee and they said because it was a 3rd Party (Hotels.com) they could not help us!   We told them to let someone have the room if they needed it! I've used Hotels.com App off and on for many years.  This was an honest mistake.  We are very disappointed that none of the assistance programs worked and the help line was unhelpful as well.  It is clear you're only interested in the money.  We will not be using your app again and we will be encouraging others not to use your app as well.  Perhaps that won't matter except it will matter to us! This is by no means a poor reflection on either of the Sleep Inns!! Both Sleep Inns were very caring and wanted to help us. This is a poor reflection for Hotels.com!

Staff helpful but that place is falling apart & obviously refusing to spend money.

Whoever had the room above mine was ridiculously loud! Slept maybe 2 hours constant stomping on the floor. Won’t be staying here again. Nightmare and no discount smh. Best of luck

Broken Bathroom and AC.

We never got to stay/check in! Because even though the Expedia website said the property excepted cash, they didn’t. Now I am in a fight to get my money back for a reservation that I did not use!
