What Guests Say About Their Stay

The room is excellent, comfortable, warm and in general all I need at a really decent price. Wifi, tv, fridge, microwave and bed all work as anticipated. Within easy walking distance of the theatre and the two restaurants associated with the hotel. This was my third stay here and I'll be back. Only small issues - No way to shut off the bathroom fan...not a really big deal...and I could have done without the bird poop on the stair hand rails. All in all, my favorite stay in Spolkane, even including relatives free houses.

Great place. Stayed one night. Did have any issues hearing the trains. The fans in room could use a tuneup. Clean, friendly staff.

The lady at the front desk made us feel so welcome! We was so sweet. Our stay was great, the only reason i didnt give it 5 stars all the was across, was the TV did not work in our room.

The hotel room smelled like it hadn’t been cleaned properly in forever and there were stains in the carpets (which they tried to blame on my dogs). The bathroom had water leaking out of the wall and the door to the hotel room would not properly close and FLEW open in the middle of the night while we were sleeping. The area was surrounded by homeless people and you had to walk half a mile to a postage stamp sized piece of grass to let your dog pee. Then, after charging a pet fee per night, they still charged us over $100 extra for “stained towels” that you know they are going to bleach anyway. The “breakfast” that is included is at a mediocre restaurant DOWN THE STREET that we had to wait almost an hour to get our food from, and coffee is not even included in that. Awful.

The beds were clean and comfy, but the washroom seemed like it had been missed, there were hairs and a smear of blood on the wall. Parking was an additional $5. It also advertised that breakfast was included, but then at checkin we were told that they were only allowed to give us one voucher for one person (there were three of us), so that’s pretty misleading. Morning staff were super kind and helpful with questions.

Nice updated rooms, love the bathroom steam shower, clean and comfy. Downtown Spokane by your self as a girl with the door to the park lot on the bottom floor, not for the weak! But no issues just maybe would think twice solo

It was very nice and pet friendly. Would stay there again but theyneed to get their act together when it comes to breakfast. On their contact info card it states Continental Breakfast while supply lasts. There was coffee and hot water. End of continental breakfast. Pet charges and parking fees very fair but note there are taxes added onto these charges. Still all in all, it was a very walkable site with Uber scooters all over the sidewalk. Note: the trains can be disruptive to sleep.

Clean simple room and very well kept establishment, right downtown in walking distance to some fun spots...Cartoons for the kids projected on the building wall in the evening was an unexpected plus...

Prices were comparable to a local very fancy hotel, I thought this location would be fun and artsy as it was named with the Steam Plant restaurant, which is where we were having dinner. The room was okay, but the people were fantastic! The manager walked me to dinner in the rain as I was hesitant in the location. Super friendly, and we had a great time!

*THIS REVIEW IS IN NO WAY DIRECTED AT THE FRONT DESK STAFF, WHO WERE FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL THROUGH OUR WHOLE STAY.* the room was dirty, like beds had been made, but not much else. Mirrors were filthy, toilet seat had gunk on it, makeup on the doorframe in the bathroom, sticky floors, doorknobs felt gritty, overall gross experience, aside from the front desk staff who checked us in, jade, who was very kind.

Here me out. This is not a hotel, this is a motel. Yes, this is a historical property, but the photos do not support the 'updated' decor I thought it had. I can speak to my room on the 3rd floor, facing the train tracks. The bad: the textured wall paper walls were painted over. The carpet was similar to indoor/outdoor carpet (I wore socks or shoes at all times, and my socks were quite dark after 5 days). There is a gap under the door (install a door sweep, and that should take care of it). Rooms are not sound proof; you can hear you neighbors, you can hear people in the parking lot. Trains run 24/7 beside the hotel (60ft away), but they give you earplugs to sleep with. The shower head sprayed everywhere but my face (clean the head, remove the calcium build up). I ended up using a bath towel to block the door gap - to reduce cool air coming in, the smell of the old train that sat running overnight, and blocking out light. You are at the end of the downtown area and beside the tracks, so there are homeless people around. But I never once felt unsafe. The good: the bed was comfy, smart tv, fridge, and microwave. The bathroom was tiled and updated. They play either the Flintstones or the Jetsons on a section of the wall in the parking lot each night. Would I stay again? No. Was the cost of the room worth the offset of the not good? No. Would I recommend this place to anyone? No. Was I hoping for more of an industrial feel given the history of the steam plants? Yes.

The train that passes directly by the hotel was extremely loud. It passes by about every 30 minutes, day and night. The front desk person was unprofessional.

It’s a decent for the price. Probably would be a bit more expensive if it wasn’t so close to the railroad tracks. The area around the stairs could definitely be better cleaned. The bed was only so so. The bathroom is very nice and clean.
