I was staying for a medical procedure for my brother and chose Wingate because of its proximity to the center as well as the lower cost compared to any of the surrounding hotels. I was pleasantly surprised with the cleanliness of the facility, especially the rooms, and the rooms were quite spacious. The breakfast was not spectacular but was very serviceable and offered a good variety of items.

Very disappointed in the front desk service. It was 1:50 and the lady looked to see if our room was available and she said it was, but then told us check in wasn't until 3:00. We just drove 9 hrs to visit someone in the hospital and just wanted to unload our luggage from the car prior to going to the hospital and leaving our stuff in the heat. We decided to go to another hotel a few blocks up the road where we were able to get a room and check in prior to going to the hospital. So we didn't even go back to the hotel and decided just to eat the nights room cost.

This hotel is in need of a lot of upgrades. On the 2nd night of our stay, the A/C unit broke down. They tried 3 different other rooms, until one had a working A/C. The beds are so uncomfortable. One of the beds in our room had broken springs. There was dirt on the corner of rooms, and you could tell it hadn’t been vacuumed in some time.
I saw 2 small bugs crawling on the breakfast buffet countertop, which was gross.
Overall, I would not recommend this hotel at all.
