Jolly Beach Antigua - All-inclusive

Very limited dining option

Jolly Beach, the good, the bad, and the ugly. Let me start off by saying this resort was an incredible value for the price we paid. First impression upon arrival was an older looking building with an even older sign and awning, underwhelmed. The check in area was nice, clean, and comfortable. The arrival process was seamless and reasonably fast. The room was on the smaller side to accommodate the king bed. It was noticeably dated and in need of some cosmetic repair. Unlike most travelers, all I care about is a clean comfortable bed and working AC. The room had both. The noise from the hallway carried easily into the room, but the resort wasn’t packed so it was negligible. Food options were limited. The buffet was average at best. Breakfast was the most complete meal with a variety of breads, meats, fruits and vegetables. There was also an egg made to order and omelet station. The pizza place, the resorts only sit down a la carte restaurant exceeded expectations. While the pizzas were very good, it was their other meals that stole the show. From fresh fish to grilled steak, we never had a bad meal here. The best part of the resort was the beach. The soft coral white sand beach stretches as far as you can see. We spent the majority of our time just lounging on the chairs. Overall, it was no where near the nicest place I’ve ever stayed. However The staff were friendly, the food was decent, and the drinks were flowing. We’ll be back next year!

The location is great, the beach excellent, staff friendly and accommodating. The food was good lots of variety. The hotel is currently doing repairs and upgrading a bit.

Breakfast was exceptional. The beach is truly a gem. Never used the pool as the beach was so beautiful. Book your tours early. Enjoyed my stay. Will definitely visit again.

People in general around the island was rude with the exception of some workers and tour guides

It’s hard to be critical when the price was so reasonable. For the most part staff was great. Accommodations are in need of serious updating. The beach is AMAZING. Enjoyed our stay but if we were to go back we would look for a more up to date resort with better accommodations, drinks and food.

The beach is awesome. The hotel is dated. Facilities are old.some staff are great,some are average and others below average customer service wise. Food is good.

The staff is friendly and the beach and pools were nice.

The property in dated and is in need of a remodel. Apart from that downfall the atmosphere was enjoyable. Good entertainment, one of the best beach on the island, alcohol beverages were flowing like water and friendly staff. Shout out to June the bartender.

Lets start with the positive! The beach and the pool are amazing! Very clean and beautiful. The sand is soft, the water is amazing. Pool is upkept well and a good relaxation spot. For the negative: The resort is EXTREMELY outdated, our room was a concrete box with a bed inside. No real furniture in the room besides the bed. The shower was TINY. There is no housekeeping. You can ask for more towels, toilet paper and sheets, they will deliver to your room, but they don't make the beds, empty trash etc. Food was mediocre at best, 95% of the food was buffet, there is a grill by the pool that has burgers and wraps, they were okay. The pizza place was open 1-2 nights for ala carte, other then that it was closed. The best meals we had were off the resort at the Italian restaurant at the marina and at Shirley Heights (great experience, highly recommend). The grounds were kept clean, but the concrete walkways/paths and overall structure needs work/chipping/cracked. We had to fight for late check-out because our flight was later in the day, they eventually gave us a different room and charged 50$. Overall if you're looking for a cheap vacation and only care about the beach/pool this is the place for you.

I was rarely asked if I wanted anything to drink during my meals. One time, they served dinner in a tiny restaurant and we lined up a long time to get a chance to eat. It took 1.5 hours for someone to get me a towel. The bbq one night was delicious. The beach was stunning!

We came for Jolly Beach which did not disappoint. The water was clear and clean. Pristine. The resort needs work; buffet breakfast was good. Food options and drink options are limited. No top shelf alcohol and drinks are heavy in syrups. Entertainment is lacking.

Very old and outdated

Perfect for relaxing this place has a quiet pool and a quiet bar also a party pool and a music bar employees very nice and polite! Perfect place

The workers was ok. Some of them had nasty attitudes and didn't greet you . There no entertainment, restaurants states open daily and isn't. Have to make reservations for restaurants that's open daily and have to make reservations for the Pizza restaurant the day before and before 7:30am . When I got up early the next day to make reservations the lady at the desk said " the restaurant isn't open today " but mind you I asked the day before and the lady told me it will be open the next , which it wasn't. The dinner was horrible not alot of selection. There's no late snacks options.. The pool bar closed at 4;45 daily. The coffee selection horrible only regular milk no creamer or flavored coffee. Cups was dirty. Room is old fashion.. The resort is boring and I will never go back to Antigua

Serene n Calm...

Cons: They lied about reservation being paid upon arrival - had to email them proof that I had already been charged! 20 minute check in process Old, outdated grounds and rooms No where to place clothes in room, lived out of suitcase No housekeeping - had to request new towels and sheets and make our beds myself. Mini fridge only on request Young staff, reception and some bartenders were miserable and mean. Poor staff communication - messed up our dinner reservation (only had one). Tried to charge us for food/drinks at Mangrove even though all-inclusive. Not much entertainment except at night for a few hours. Wouldn't allow extended checkout despite empty resort and had to fight with reception to get another room for a few hours. Charged $50 extra. Pros: Pools and grounds kept extremely clean, despite being oudated. Older staff, kitchen staff, bellboys super nice! A la carte dinner was excellent. Drinks were made well most of the time. Coconut Grill food was great! Resort had max 40-50 guests on any given day. Plenty of beach and pool chairs everywhere. The saving grace for this resort was the pool and the beach. One of the most beautiful, perfect settings you could ever visit in the Caribbean. Wouldn't go back to this resort because they don't seem to want you there, but would definitely go to the beach again and again.
