Marcoola Beach Resort

Room was clean and stunning view.

Our only concerns about the apartment was that there were no tea towels for washing up which would be useful when the expectation is that you wash and dry up your dishes before you depart. There was also no hand soap in the bathrooms.

Unit 118 - The resort facilities and gardens were great and well kept, easy acces to the beach and walking path are the only reason I am giving this review 3 stars. On booking our stay we requested a porta cot for our 6 month old daughter, however on checking in to the room there was no porta cot available. My husband questioned reception about the lack of porta cot to which he was informed that the resort did not have any porta cots at all. We had to make a make shift bed for her from a couch cushion and cot sheet we had brought with us. The unit itself was tidy but tired. The couch was broken and faded, the carpets pulled and stained, the screen doors to the balcony didn't latch properly and the fly screens were very loose. The light in the master bedroom did not work. Board games were available, however torn, and many parts were missing. During our stay, the oven would overheat and switch itself off. The oven knobs were extremely hot as well as surrounding surfaces. The washing mashing would cut out and we would have to restart it mid cycle a few times. On the last 6 lost power to half the unit, including the washing machine, dryer and power outlets in the bedrooms and bathrooms. We switched everything off at the walls in the unit to problem solve what could be tripping the safety switch but couldn't find the issue. As the power was lost after we had gone to bed, it meant our fridge was without power for several hours and some food items lost. Reception was closed! No help

No staff at desk, room very tired and stained. Sofa and Outdoor table falling apart. Bedroom shutters didn't fully close and light came through from hallway so I had to sleep on the couch to get darkness.

When I arrived to collect the key to the room the guy in the office, the staff member said if I had any queries to not call him. I had no internet in the room and when I went to the front office to query about this the guy said for me to hot spot off my phone. After saying that's not good enough and that I was down there to do a course and that I needed internet for studying he eventually went into the office and grabbed another modem for me to use. Staff were not very freindly or helpfull.

The only thing is that the windows In The bedrooms do not block out noise very well and a generator was going off the first night

room clean but had signs of wear and tear like patch up jobs on walls and lot of scuffs and marks. bed average, could feel some springs poking through. TV was broken. great views, well equipped and great location. Facilities good but sauna was not working. Reception was not manned during the advertised hours. Expedia listing conflicted with the hotels listing. Expedia said 5 persons but actual room was only for 4 so we had one less bed and had to use couch. Hotel said we needed to pay extra for another bed. Expedia did refund us partially for this.

The Property and layout were great. However upon arriving to find the air conditioning broken, and the floor soaking wet, took 6+hours to dry them. The ensuite light was dull to the point you needed to shower via phone light. I will never book this room again as the staff were extremely ungrateful about the conditions of the room, merely told us the owner said everything works😕

The guy on the front desk is not very friendly or approachable. I paid for an extra person to stay and was not provided with an extra bed. However the lady that stopped what she was doing to show me and my children to our room was very friendly and really helpful. The location is superb so close to the beach it’s amazing.

Does the job - fairly old but everything is comfortable

Had rooftop 3 bedroom. Was good and enjoyed the unit. There was no wifi available for our room which couldn’t be sorted

Sadly check in took about 20 mins due to the person that was meant to be on the desk leaving their phone at the desk while they went to do things. Unit was still being cleaned at 2:30 when we finally got in to the unit. Beds weren’t made properly, dirty towels from last guest still in the ensuite bathroom, what appears to be makeup on the walls, and on sheets. Cleaners started dishwasher when leaving meaning we had to unpack it. Still rubbish in the bin. Washing machine doesn’t drain so had to continually put it to spin cycle to drain, lint filter in dryer so full it was a fire hazard. All the frypans were filthy and clearly not cleaned properly. Very disappointing as we love this resort and come 2-3 times a year. Very let down.

Property still needs work. Staff is not always around. The lift was also in need of some service. Spa and pool weren’t ready as the staff was still putting chemicals in it on the day of the holiday

The room we stayed in was poorly equipped. No clothes dryer, no hair dryer, aircon didn’t work, no soap dish in shower, no shower curtain (looks good in magazines, hopeless when children use shower). Toilet was faulty, reported day 1 and not fixed. Oven barely worked.

Great position to amazing beach. Lovely gardens.
