Serenade Hotel

There wasn't direct view of the ocean, but it's a very, very short walk to get to the beach and ocean. We walked to a nearby restaurant - the Cozy Corner, every day, (only about 200 ft) and we could hang out on their beach chairs all day. The main walkway is right out the front door, so everything in the village is very accessible. Hotels shared kitchen was not available during our stay, but they were in the process of many updates, and that must be one of them. Rooms are small & cozy, AC worked well. We had an in room mini frig. I think they could use additional outdoor seating on the balconies, there was no place to sit outside. Staff was incredibly nice and helpful.

Our experience at Seranade was basically good. Lucinda, the manager,was very responsive. The location was excellent. It was not "on the beach", but right across the Placencia Sidewalk from the beach and close to shops and dining on the Sidewalk. The facility was clean, but very old And a bit rundown (broken tiles on bathroom floors, in need of paint, ,etc.)but adequate for our needs. There were 3 of us in 3 different rooms.

For New Year’s Eve, I braved the drive from Belmopan (mid-mainland) to "The Sidewalk" (you should Google it—it’s where the party’s at). A local had promised me a room near the action, but when my son and I showed up, we got hit with the dreaded “Sorry, no room available.” Panic? Oh, absolutely. But then, Serenade came to the rescue. On one of the busiest nights of the year, they managed to squeeze us in. Crisis averted! Our room was cozy (read: small) but clean, featuring a TV, two beds, a shelf, and a bathroom. Nothing fancy, but it ticked the basics: a place to sleep and a spot to freshen up. We were super close to "The Sidewalk," so be warned—if you’re a light sleeper, the sound of passersby might not be your idea of relaxation. The price felt fair for what we got, considering it was last-minute, and it served us well for one night. For a longer stay? I’d suggest exploring more modern options. But hey, they saved us on New Year’s Eve, so major points for that. The real highlight was meeting the property owners, who split their time between Belize and California. They were so lovely that we actually ran into them again later—small world! The staff were equally wonderful, going above and beyond to make our stay pleasant. Parking? A bit of a puzzle, especially if there’s flooding. Be prepared for some creative maneuvering. In summary, Serenade is “outdated but functional.” Would I recommend it? For a night or two, absolutely—especially if your budget’s tight.

Propery needs some work, google maps sent us continually to wrong address

The place was not even close to what was presented in the photos. There was nothing about it that I could find to say that was good very disappointing non to little hot water , door didn’t close properly and no safety latch just not a very nice place. We left after 2 nights. The room we were put in was one of the recently renovated rooms and the room next to ours was under construction from first thing in the morning until 8pm making it impossible to enjoy

The description said we’d have a microwave and talked about a shared lounge. There was no microwave and no access to a lounge. When we asked for a room with a microwave we were told there were none. Very basic room but the AC worked. Good location.

A lot of the reviews only mention location and price, so I want to provide something more well rounded. Room quality: C-. The room had a little more than the bare bones: 2 bars of soap, a shower with low water pressure (but mostly hot water), internet (worked well 2/3 days, and not at all the 3rd), a bed, a dresser and a fridge. It lacked a trash can, and other basic items you'd otherwise expect. I would also give this a higher rating if the internet had worked all three days. Cleanliness: C-. They had mopped before I arrived, but the room was in serious need of redoing. All the walls had a mix of seemingly mold, blood ( red markings), or dirt. See my attached photos. It rained a ton while I was there, so I don't fault the musty smell. Noise: F. The walls are incredibly thin, and they are apparently redoing the common area, so everyone hung out on the balcony. That meant you heard every conversation, including the family that argued at 7am about what shoes to bring to the excursion, and the group that partied on the second floor balcony from 8pm-2am every night. Even though I used earplugs, I never got more than 5-6 hours of sleep a night. Location: A . The location can't be beat; it's in the heart of Placencia. Price: I paid $100/night so interpret that however you want. I will never, ever, return here. If I return to Placencia, I will save up and stay anywhere else even if it costs more.

The room had AC, a cold mini fridge, and a clean comfy bed, but there were a few unpleasant things. First of all, it didn’t look like much was cleaned but the sheets in the room. There were no trash cans or bags. The windows were not real windows, but rather blinds, meaning no real privacy or quiet could be had. It was fine to stay in for a night, but I wouldn’t go back. It was definitely not worth what we paid for it. It was close to the beach, so I suppose that’s what you’re paying for in this case.

The pictures advertising the property were far from accurate, most of it was empty and our room was in the back , absolutely manky

Interior of the room was great. Exterior of building was ok but need to clean up the back area where you park. A lot of trash and not the best impression when you park.

Clean, convenient, friendly staff, quiet and safe—perfect place to stay in Placencia!

The manager was very welcoming. The room was clean and comfortable, near all amenities.

Spent one night, and it was a great stay! Lovely sightseeing when walking in the Placencia Sidewalk toward the sea! The staff from the office was friendly and gladly showed us where to find Captain Jaks to prepare for the next day’s adventure. I recommend booking the Serenade Hotel as it's affordable and has excellent security.

Great staff, my wife was extremely sick and they help me get a cab and call the local nurse for help.

Pas sécuritaire la nuit des personnes viennent près des fenêtres de la chambre enlève les lumières dehors.Aucun respect et crie.Il y avait plein de caca sur bord de fenêtre ( souris).Cafard dans chambre .Pas de miroir dans salle de bain n'y ailleurs.Aucune bouteille eau dans la chambre.Je ne recommande pas cette place .Trop cher trop cher. Ventilateur perd des morceaux de métal tellement rouillé.Manque beaucoup entretien. Trou dans mur de toilette. Nous avons eu très peur et pas dormi car ces gens qui viennent sont ivres où gelé au cannabis...

We enjoyed our stay, the staff was very accommodating, the room was clean and comfortable. We'd definitely stay there again.
