Bellmere Winds Golf Resort

Beautiful cottage resort our hockey team loved staying at. Having evening camp fires and afternoon fishing was perfect. I wish we had time for golf, the course looks amazing. My only complaint is that the resort is huge and they have little to no walking trails connecting the 2 areas together, it was faster to drive and that's not ideal.

Beach was not as expected water was not clean

I took my family on a trip and when we first got to our mini home, there was crumbs and dirt all over the floors and tables, the bed covers were torn and it advertised free wifi and tv. We had neither. I called front desk and they were lovely but all over the place! The staff was under knowledgeable and kept transferring me back and forth, after an hour. They gave us snacks and free fire wood and CDs for the DVD player and we’re very apologetic. However. The tv remote was missing and the tv had no HDMI cord and the CD player didn’t work, it just kept ejecting the disks. The speed bumps are terrible and the beach is small.

Golf course and public grounds were nice as were the two small pools. There is a small beach on the lake, but it is right next to the marina. The mobile home unit we rented was not cleaned well with a bag full of garbage (with cigarette butts) left in the closet and garbage left around and in the outdoor fire pit. The mattress covers provided had stains on them. The information on Expedia was incorrect (Expedia booking said I had until July 16 for free cancellation, meanwhile the property itself demanded full payment with no cancellation according to their policy on July 6 and took it by phone or else would not honour the reservation). I also would have appreciated a heads up that the grounds were under considerable construction (a whole new section of the mobile home units were being constructed at the time of our stay directly next to our unit) which made for a very dusty and loud stay. Luckily we had bedding with us from a previous part of our road trip, but the Expedia information on the unit did not mention that bedding and towels needed to be provided by the guest, nor did the booking information when I paid the resort before my stay. The unit was to accommodate up to 6 people but the kitchen was lacking (e.g. only two forks in the whole drawer, not enough glasses). Given that the closest restaurant was at least 15-18 minutes away, some sort of snack bar or restaurant on the property would have been nice since it is billed as a resort. Value for money was low.
