Norwood Hotel

Got upgraded to a king suite so that was a nice surprise. The heating/ventilation system was a bit on the loud side. Otherwise great room and good restaurant.

Good experience but needs a wee gym. Must have at hotel. Restaurant great

We got charged for an unpublished parking fee. Told they were still working on adding it to Expedia site. Both beds were also terrible, low water pressure in the shower and toilet hardly flushed. Other than that pretty average. Stayed there in the past and it was a much nicer hotel.

This hotel is very nice. It’s not the best area around Winnipeg but inside it’s a hidden gem.

Check in was miserable. Computers were apparently down. But they made me wait 40 mins to get into my room. They could have given me the keys. Room was already paid for. They just sat there and didn't even apologize for the wait. Otherwise room was nice. Also was overcharged at their Wood Tavern restaurant. Very unfortunate as the bartender there was quite good

Expedia needs to do better descriptions of the rooms. Booked a room with tub and shower and was informed that all that was available were shower stalls since a recent renovation. Expedia showed that the rooms had bathtubs. Also there was no mention on the booking site that there was an extra $12.00 charge for parking. we would have booked at another hotel had we know the above. Hotel is fine and the restaurant was great just a very poor rating for expedia as they did not have the correct information about the Norwood.

I gave such a low ratings, because a few things happened during our stay…when we checked in, the staff was not friendly, it was late, we were very tired from traveling all day, and we had a truck with a trailer. The hotel states that they offer RV parking, our truck and trailer are the size of an RV. They were hosting an event and the parking lot was full, so they said they were going to help us Find a place to park. We had to ask twice for the help that never came and the person they finally sent was unable to help much. They also charged us $25 to park our truck with the trailer, and also charged our son $12 to park his car. The room was fine, tired, but bathroom and bed was clean. In the morning, we left very early and needed the trolley to bring our belongings and pack the car. We asked for assistance and the staff could not find the trolley, and nobody offered to help with anything. They just kept watching us as we did all the work. Nobody went above and beyond, that location is very tired and the staff is not friendly. We only stayed there and paid more than the average hotel in the category, because of the location, but I would not recommend it to anybody.

I liked the walk in shower, but a shower stool would have been wonderful...

I didn’t appreciate having to pay $12 a night for parking. The location was both awkward (on a one way street) and unsafe — police were called to the hotel. And a fire truck, likely to deal with homeless people. We won’t be staying here again.

A girl had her new car vandalized in parking lot that night.

It was a quiet and relaxing place

Stayed here a couple of nights while having a procedure done at St, Boniface hospital. Great location to the hospital. I felt comfortable in this area during the day but not in the evening. Hotel has some upgrades (bathroom was nicely upgraded) but floor of the room had old carpet and was very “lumpy”. Staff were great. Restaurant had a very tasty breakfast. I would stay again if I had to be at St. Boniface hospital because of convenience. If just staying in Winnipeg for a vacation I would not likely stay here.

What I didn’t like, they now charge 12.00 dollars a day to park. Parking at the Norwood is limited to there parking only, there is no other options. I resent paying a parking fee when the hotel room rate is high enough

I have stayed here on a few occasions. Rooms are always clean. Staff always pleasant and helpful. Have heard good reviews about the restaurant.

Not very nice customer service. Bath and wash hand sink drains very slowly
