Ocean El Faro Resort - All Inclusive

During our family stay at Ocean El Fargo, Jose truly stood out as an exceptional butler. His professionalism was evident in every interaction. From the moment we arrived, he greeted us warmly, making us feel welcomed and valued. Jose was attentive to our needs, anticipating requests before we even had to ask, which significantly enhanced our experience. His knowledge of the property and local area was impressive; he provided us with excellent recommendations for dining and activities. Additionally, his impeccable service was matched only by his friendly demeanor, which made our stay feel more personalized and enjoyable. Overall, Jose’s professionalism and dedication made our time at Ocean El Fargo memorable, and we are grateful for his outstanding service.

This was our first all inclusive for our children and we enjoyed every moment of it! The lazy river the kids absolutely loved!! It was nice to have options of pools, one was very busy and one was more chill which is what we opted for. Beach was beautiful and clean every morning. Would have enjoyed to see more food options around both pools, it’s quite the walk to the buffet to find options to eat other than a burger/hotdog at the Ocean Stand. Rooms were awesome, beds very comfortable and clean. Food was okay, seemed like a lot of the same foods you would find at the buffet, but just tabled service. Sakuna was my favourite by far. Excellent service and entertainment! Would definitely come back and have already told family & friends to visit!

Food was mediocre other than the buffet and the hibachi restaurant. Lots of people trying to sell you services/items throughout the resort and it just becomes a little annoying after a while. Otherwise, if you’re looking to enjoy yourself on a beach with a drink in hand and have an air conditioned room to go back to at the end of the day, then this place has got that. The best drinks are made by Domingo on the beach or in the piano bar.

We stayed at Ocean El Faro for 7 days with our two young daughters. While the resort looked promising based on reviews and its modern design, it didn’t live up to expectations. Check-in took over an hour and turned into a Privilege Club (timeshare) pitch—something we were hoping to avoid. Thankfully, Chef Rafael made our stay manageable. He prepared fresh halal meals daily, checked on our kids personally, and went above and beyond. Roberto also assisted him with care and professionalism—both were amazing. Our room was clean but basic, and sheets had a persistent damp smell. Food overall was repetitive, lacked vegetarian options, and buffet service was slow. Mike’s Coffee Shop had limited snacks, though the mango smoothie was great. The pool was large and uncrowded, but towels and lounge chairs were hard to find. The kids’ club was poorly run, and entertainment was hit or miss. Language barriers with staff made simple requests frustrating. Rainy weather added to the challenge as there were no covered walkways. Tip: Bring snacks, pool toys, conditioner, and rain jackets. Suggestion: Improve food, towel availability, staff communication, and entertainment.

the staff was great nobody was fliting or being weird which i normally get when i go to other resorts, the lazy river is absolutely not a lazy river thought it was one of the selling points for me and it ended up being more like a ride with water coming for everywhere so perfect for a kid but maybe not what and adult looking to relax would want. Food was pretty good one of the better places that I have been to. shopping center was very unpriced make sure to bring everything you need

It’s a nice family oriented place. The staff do well to engage with the young ones. They did a great job of interacting with adults as well. Our room was super clean, minus a leaky faucet. Everything was off the main strip which made it so easy to navigate and get to things.

Most of the google reviews seem to be fake... we booked based on those reviews, but after a few sleepless nights took a deeper dive. The hotel is clean and the rooms are quite large.. however, the a/c does not work properly and blows humid air (cold, but humid). We had to ask for a dehumidifier to be able to sleep..we ended up emptying the dehumidifier 2-3 times per night with the a/c on.. just to give you an idea of how humid it is (this is not the outside humidity factor - it is the failure of the a/c system). The beach is only good for tanning or taking in the ocean air... it is impossible to swim there even with water shoes on as there is no sand at all as soon as you hit the water line (we were later told by our driver that the beach at that hotel is ARTIFICIAL... they bring in sand every so often and it, obviously, gets washed away. The cleaning staff is nice and attentive, but the bar staff is definitely lacking. Long lines at the cafe and all bars, all the time. Tip or no tip - no real difference - you won't get served quickly for sure. The food is alright. large buffet area, but the selection is repetitive. they use SOYBEAN OIL fora ll of their cooking (checked with their kitchen staff).. in case that matters to someone. These a la carte restaurants are great: Blue Moon, Streak house. Good: Margarita, Sakura. Do not go: Dolce Vita (Italian).. I'm not quite sure what it was that we ate there, couldn't make out what was on the plate - we followed it up with the buffet.

Beautiful property. Big value for the money. Would definitely come again with the family.

Excelente hotel

Loved our 10 day stay with our 2 year old - we welcomed his 2nd year here and it was an amazing experience. Beautiful rooms and the swing in the balcony was the best!

Un gran hotel, todos amables, facilidades, el personal fue lo mejor, volvería una y mil veces, nos asignaron un mayordomo y nos facilitó todo. Buenísimo. Mi familia quedó encantada.

Service is inconsistent and pretty poor. Sales people and upscale staff throughout the resort will not leave you alone.

This was such an amazing stay! The property was beautiful! I loved all the restaurants, the pools, beach and most importantly the drinks, there was alot to do and the staff kept me entertained and were very hospitable, I was never in need for anything. Almost like they thought of everything, even brought extra towels in the evenings. My concierge Jose was the ABSOLUTE BEST! Very professional, he checked on me daily and got all my dinner reservations taken care of for me, he even helped me with getting my excursions at the last minute. Exceptional service, I would recommend this hotel to any and everyone! This was my first solo trip and I’m so happy I chose it. 10000/10!

I never write reviews….. but I’m overly compelled to write a review, not only for the resort itself, but for Ricardo. Ricardo was the first person I encountered as I arrived to the resort. Ricardo went above and beyond to assist me upon my arrival after a very unsettling experience I had with my airport shuttle (NOT in anyway affiliated with this resort). Ricardo was beyond amazing and was my first impression of the Ocean El Faro resort, as I had never been here before and had never visited an Ocean property prior. I can not thank Ricardo enough for his professionalism and assistance. Ricardo…THANK YOU! I can not say that enough. The staff at Ocean El Faro is exceptional. Jose, my butler, was fantastic! I had a wonderful time!
