Buckingham Hotel

Has the potential to be nice. It was clean.

Booked here last minute, looking cheap and cheerful. It was neither. Bonus though it had a carpark and the staff were very nice and helpful. This place is run down with paint on top, which is a shame because it looks like it could be lovely with the right guidance. They moved us to a different room when I told them my room smelt of cigarette smoke, worse in the bathroom. We went to a bigger room, again had the potential to be nice but fell short, too many things to list. The corridor before going up to the 1st floor just reeked of dope, I mentioned it and the smell was gone for 1 day but the culprit resumed again before we left. Highlight was the owner's luxury cars ...... maybe should use some of the money on sorting out the rooms. Lots of decorating equipment in the lobby but no evidence of it being used. It's confusing what this place identifies as ... bedsit or hotel? A noisy fridge in each room with a microwave, the smell of someone's microwave meal over the top of someone smoking dope.

Was a contractor who I booked here but he checked out after 1 day of 2 . Noises in the night , alarms going off . Room smelt like cigarettes . Just to name a few .

The rooms are large enough and clean, Staff are friendly, area is secured with adequate parking space. It is also very close to shopping malls and cinema.

Considering the low price, the hotel was very nice and clean. The room came with a kettle, fridge and a microwave

Awful hole, avoid at all costs

Nice clean hotel had a good shower and a microwave in the room pillows were lumpy and uncomfortable that was my only disappointment

Hotel organizado, com geladeira e forno elétrico no quarto, porem sem ar-condicionado, por ser no ultimo andar, estava muito calor denteo do quarto, mesmo com as janelas totalmente abertas, e estando ar fresco do lado de fora, o quarto nao refrescava, posso contar que peguei no minimo uns 8 duchas / banho em uma unica estadia.

We stayed short notice overnight after being held up in the area . The staff member was incredibly helpful about parking our van and we found the room clean and comfortable. We didn’t use the fridge and microwave in the room but could see this being useful for a longer stay.

Room, bathroom, towels, bed linen etc all clean but the room reeked of smoke despite being non-smoking. There was a lot of road noise and the shower was either scalding or boiling, no means of turning it down. You get what you pay for…

Didnt get offered breakfast, bar with no beer, no anything actually. Picture of room on advert was nothing like the one we had. No beside tables/shelf. Lamp we had to plug in and put on floor next to bed. Coathangers were on a pole above a desk, so couldnt hang anything over 12"long. Walls very thin, listened to gentleman next door not very happy with who was talking to last night and then again at 6am this morning. On a good note, spotlessy clean. Looks like a lot of work going on with the ammount of sealed boxes about, so hopefully, will get sorted. Staff were lovely too

Basic cost effective comfortable stay with very powerful shower. No bar or Restaurant but late garage closeby and pub a 5 min walk away. Great value for money. Helpful on check in. No complaints. Would defo use again.

Check in was fast and easy. Room was great. Residents in next door room were screaming and shouting very loudly most of the time I spent trying to work in my room.

Bed was so uncomfortable Very noisy

Honestly a lot could be said. The bed was quite uncomfortable. Didn’t have hot water till about an hour in. The walls are paper thin, heard people talking and slamming doors all night. Some very loud kids who seemed unsupervised on the same floor. But it was convenient for the night, tv was decent and nice to have a microwave and fridge in the room. Plus windows that open enough to get some air in the room.

Receptionist nice and friendly Room poor overall, too warm, not clean old food left in the fridge, dirty toilet, stained towels, smelt of cigarettes constantly, long hairs in the bed, toilet dirty. Light pollution due to not having blackout curtains, noise pollution due to having to have the window open, no air con or fan. Very noisy street and other guests, felt I had no sleep at all. Single light in the room no lamps. Overall could do better. Suggest a deep clean, invest in lamps, fans and blackout blinds or curtains to get it to a standard that is acceptable.

The Buckingham Hotel was a great place to rest on my way up to Wales. I was greeted by very friendly staff at reception and parking was easy. My room had a microwave oven, mini fridge and kettle. 👍 Bathroom was especially good and clean. 👍 It’s a good local stay for High Wickham.
