Hotel was lovely, staff friendly, and kept very clean. Breakfast was very good, lots of choice. The spa pool was ok, but could do with being free for guests ( £15 each per hour). The room was generously proportioned and we'd definitely stay there again

Fantastic architecture

Great check-in with cookies, as is typical of doubletree hotels. The photos of the pool online are misleading for families since it’s a separate spa and not included. Additionally, the amazing looking library is not accessible to guests. Only open for privately booked events. That was a huge letdown for the family. The bartender was awesome though. He changed the music for us since it was slow and made us feel welcome.

Receptionist said we did not need to book for dinner however when entering the restaurant we were asked for a booking reservation. She also did not validate our parking ticket and we were inconvenienced to then go back to hotel and get validation after being stuck at the exit to car park not being able to get out! Quite expensive for the stay and food at the restaurant was poor.

We chose this hotel as it clearly had a hottub and swimming pool. When we checked in, we noticed a sign that said the swimming pool and hottub are separate for £25pp per hour extra! We showed the manager that this was not at all clearly mentioned in the details on hotels.com and even more hidden on their own websites. For us, this was a clear case of false advertisement as the spa is what they show off the most with. Even on their own website, they speak about their spa from the start, but even the manager needed 6 clicks to be able to show you have to pay extra for it. After a long discussion with her, she told us she could make an exception and give us the ability for a full refund if we wanted to search for another hotel. As we didn’t immediately know if we could still find a decent one, she told us we could look and think about it. An hour later, we found another hotel so we returned to the front desk. There the receptionist said she would check with the manager as she just went home… A few minutes later, she returned and told us the manager said we should have taken the offer immediately and that it is now too late! We then asked her to check the cameras so she could see the manager is literaly lying, but that she didn’t want to do. I've never been treated more unprofessional. The wifi is also terrible and almost unusable, unless you also pay extra for it!! Room itself feels outdated as well

Lovely hotel, rooms very nice and big bathrooms. Only issue was the internet unusable on 6th floor which was a problem for me. May be okay on lower floors.

Quick cheap taxi to everything, did Beatle Museum, Magical Mystery Tour, and Saturday night at Beatle tribute band at Cavern. Very safe, convenient for girls traveling.

Very comfy bed and bedding. Disappointed there was no bath. Discounted parking at the local NCP was a bonus.
