What an absolutely fantastic hotel! My mother and I came to stay for the Early May bank holiday weekend. The moment we entered Sally and the reception team treated us like old friends. Sally was really chatty with us and made us laugh, the hotel felt really homely and welcoming. Our twin room, 117, was the last room in the corridor and I preferred this. It was really quiet, the beds were really comfy. Room was large and airy, it had everything we needed, it was very clean. Bathroom was great, what I liked was the seat inside it and handrail. Shower easy to use and very warm, I loved it. You are very close to local amenities, such as Stansted Airport, Braintree Outlet village, Colchester, and the coast. Even though the hotel is next to the bypass you never hear a thing it’s very quiet. I can honestly say I will be booking this hotel the next opportunity I get. Highly recommended! Thank you for a lovely stay.

The shower unit, unfortunately, let our stay down.
The shower riser rail is far too off-set & the water pressure very poor.

The base of the double bed was worn and stained and therefore I checked the condition of the mattress on top. That was ok.
The handrail running on the tiled surface along the bath was very rusty. Had been badly painted with blue metal paint to hide rust.

Great hotel for a night before using Stansted Airport. Lovely welcome from the reception team. Very dog friendly. Good room, nice and spacious. Lots of hot water. The sofa bed was a little lumpy. Can't comment on breakfast as we departed before it opened. Would recommend for the price and would happily return.
