The room was delightfully and tastefully modern, clean, spacious and comfortable.
The location is brilliant for walking into the city core, but far enough away to be totally quiet.
We loved it for our compressed day in York.

Whilst the bathroom looked very luxurious, overnight the drain started to smell dreadfully. Only stopped by keeping the door shut. The problem could be outside because the drain(s) at entrance to the lane to private car parking also smelled bad. Staff were empathetic but could only offer a twin room on the top floor. At 85 my husband did not want to walk that far. We had to ask for more milk, coffee pods (only 1 given for 2 nights) and no biscuits even though these were available when I asked for reinforcements. The bathroom extractor fan was not working or on, and the lower shower leeks.

Jorvik House was a great stay for our overnight trip in York and was centrally located but away from the crowds of the city. The room was well appointed and quiet, and we had the best night’s sleep of our entire 3-week UK trip in the very comfortable bed!
The only fault of our stay is the lack of clarity around the parking at the property - we weren’t aware of the parking situation before we arrived and the closest car park was £25 per night.

We had a very enjoyable stay, very friendly and helpful staff and a great location close to the city centre. The only issue we had was with parking.
Though the hotel has no on-site parking it can rent a limited number of places nearby. We booked one of these only to find someone else had taken our spot and we had to use the closest car park instead.

Had an issue with our room regarding a noise in the wall that started at 5am and continued we were moved next door which was quieter, wish we had known about the construction going on right outside the windows and start at 8am on weekends. Great location, and walkable into the centre, very convenient long stay public carpark just around the corner.
