The Black Bull Inn

Second time staying here in last 3 months. Great service, great staff and great food. Highly recommended. Guy behind bar also remembered me from last time. Happily stay again!!!

Good place to stay, but the pub closes really early if there aren't enough guests.

Place and staff were really really nice, only let down was the mattress. Could feel the springs and even see them as sat on the bed. Other than that a great place and easy fix

One night stay asked on arrival what time I wanted breakfast and was told anytime after 7.30 would be available . So I went for 8.am went down for breakfast at 7.55 and there was no one there place was all locked up. Butcher delivery man tuned up went round to kitchen and came back saying no one in place kitchen has not been opened. So packed my van to leave. While packing, front door of pub / restaurant opened it was now 8.20am with chef coming out saying we were told breakfast was for 8.15. Rubbish service rubbish comunication

Fabulous inside and good food. Great service and rooms are to a good standard. Prices a touch high, but I’ve stayed in much worse and paid much more. Very attentive crew, who go out of their way to oblige. I would definitely stay again. Overall, good to very good. Worth making the effort to visit and stay. 8/10

The room hadn't been cleaned properly before arrival as the floor was dirty and hair everywhere, even in the bed! The restaurant was closed for the evening and although we paid for breakfast in the booking, nothing was provided as the pub was still closed. The pub, rooms and location were fine but just let down by minor details that could have been easily rectified.

Cannot rate this Inn enough. Fantastic place from the accomodation to the staff. Nothing was to much trouble. Room, food, staff everything was just so good

Pleasant stay at the Black Bull, comfortable accommodation in detached courtyard with reasonable facilities (TV, Coffee/Tea/Stand Up Shower/Bath, Hanging and charge points). Food (Dinner & Breakfast) was excellent and hospitality by Alex was excellent. Very quiet village with limited services but perfect for some R&R or Stansted stopover.

The place looks great, serves a good choice of drinks, and staff to match. I was thoroughly impressed and really enjoyed our stay, the food, and the ambience.
