Mercure Hotel Severinshof Koeln City

The hotel is located on a not so pretty part of the city. As a woman travelling solo, I didnt feel so great walking around and avoided going out alone after dark (7 pm). However, the s Bahn sation right next to the hotel was the best thing I can mention about the stay. The room is comfortable but quite old. The carpet had stains, the chair also had stains, and the tv is not smart, so you can only watch shows and series in German. The bathroom was clean, but the shower leaked a lot, I had to be extra careful not to wet the whole bathroom floor. I would not stay there again and I think it was not at all worth the price

Wir kommen immer wieder gerne her, Auto im Parkhaus abstellen, einchecken und Kölle genießen. Entweder zu Fuß oder mit den Öffis direkt vor der Tür.

It was a nice hotel for one night…

Staff was so friendly. The morning breakfast was very impressive. Very close to the chocolate museum and other sites. Very walkable.

Good Hotel

The most uncomfortable beds, you get 2 tiny blankets and the oldest pillows. The gym is a joke, the walls are so thin and the gap in the door allows for so much noise to pierce through. I feel like i was catfished. Do not stay here, there are other hotels at better prices. You don't get any toiletries, they don't even have body soap in the shower which also had mold in it. You don't get water so you have to pay at the bar IF they bother to help you. A few times i went to the front desk and no one was to be found. Elevator was broken forcing people to wait for just the 1 or take the stairs. Area is meh, at least you're close to the metro. The laundry was expensive and they didn't even offer it the day we needed it. (Day before Christmas eve)

Easy checkin and check out

Fantastic location across the street from a train station. Staff was very friendly. Breakfast was outstanding.

Room was comfortable, warm and clean. Didn’t have the breakfast as we wanted to try various brunch places. Staff were very helpful except on the day we had to check out. There was a queue of at least 10 guests at the reception desk and when I asked if anyone else could help at the desk there was an unclear answer and no one came out from the office to help. We waited for nearly 30 minutes to check out! Very disappointing as other times staff were great.

Next to a metro stop and shops.

Nice hotel great restaurant and exceptional breakfast. Heating system was not good enough and phone was broken so I needed to go to the lobby to ask to fix. The staff is exceptional nice and helpful. But some maintenance work is a must.

We had a lovely family break for the Christmas markets and stayed at the Mercure Hotel. We had a suite which made life with our little one much easier as she slept in a cot in the living area. The room was well equipped as was the bathroom. Staff were very friendly and were able to assist us with anything we needed. Great location for visiting the Christmas markets, would definitely recommend. We didn't eat any meals at the hotel so cannot comment on the restaurant or other facilities.

Obwohl wir wirklich sehr früh dran waren, konnten wir ohne Verzögerung und Mehrkosten sofort einchecken. Das Einchecken ging auch schnell - ob hier der durchgeführte online check-in geholfen hat, weiß ich nicht. Allerdings hatten wir dafür ein Doppelbett anstatt wie gebucht zwei Einzelbetten. Das war uns aber egal. Das gesamte Personal, mit dem wir zu tun hatten, war im Übrigen ausgesprochen nett. Die Zimmer selbst haben eine ausreichende Größe. Es ist ein Wasserkocher mit Kaffee und Tee im Zimmer, was nicht in der Hotelbeschreibung steht - warum eigentlich nicht? Ich finde das ein sehr angenehmes Detail. Einzig das Bad fällt etwas ab. Hier hat man noch wie früher eine Badewanne mit Duschabtrennung und offene Rohre unter dem Waschbecken. Ältere Gäste dürften hier durchaus Schwierigkeiten haben. Leider gibt es in den kleinen, fensterlosen Bädern auch erste Anzeichen von Schwarzschimmel. Positiv ist die Haltestelle für Bus und Bahn direkt vor der Tür. Damit ist man in null komma nix im Zentrum. In der direkten Umgebung findet man auch viele gute Lokale für alle Mahlzeiten. Das Frühstück im Hotel haben wir nicht genutzt, denn das war uns preislich deutlich zu abgehoben.

Wir hatten einen angenehmen Aufenthalt. Man ist schnell zu Fuss oder der Bahn in der City. Die Zimmer waren sauber(bis auf wenige Mängel im Bad) Das Frühstück war reichhaltig und lecker.

Lækkert hotel, lækker morgenmadsbuffet
