Very friendly staffs

My wife Sheri and I, traveled on vacation together in Sept. from Miami, FL. to Iceland to take a break away from the heat and humidity in Miami to explore Iceland country during Autumn/Winter season. We enjoyed our short stay at the Hellisholar Cottages. My wife really enjoyed the cold weather. We got Free parking included in our stay, Free wifi, hot and cold water, clean room, in a very quiet and peaceful area too.

The cottage we had was dated on the inside and gorgeous on the outside. But at the same time had everything we needed so we can still recommend this location. The shower is nice and warm and a lot of windows can open to easily air out the cottage. There is a water cooker, cooking stove, fridge, anything you may need to comfortably spend the night. The location is stunning as the view is amazing and you're in a field where we saw a group of sheep gently walking around. Parking is not a problem for cottages as they each have their own driveway. The communication regarding the self check-in was done very well so we had no problems getting into the cottage after a long day. We had to knock off a star due to the dated interior, our cottage door did not have blinds on the window and several windows were missing a block at the end of the rail when you only want to partially open a window. Please don't let any of this discourage you as you're still in a beautiful place in Iceland and the location is amazing

Le cottage était propre mais pas assez de couverts, verres, la plaque électrique faisait sauter le tableau électrique, les stores occultants pour certains cassés, un ballon d’eau chaude trop petit (80l)… la laverie machine à laver n’était pas terrible et la machine à sécher ne séchait rien

I didn’t expect much staying in our rustic cabin the countryside. But for what they charge – the cabin really was not in great shape. There was broken furniture, the kitchenette barely had any silverware. Views are amazing, Location is great, the people are nice. But at least a nice well maintained cabin would be nice.

This was our first night in Iceland. We checked in late, however the front desk lady was super friendly and accommodating. We drove up to our cabin and it was a perfect start to our trip. Very rustic and quant. The three of us comfortably slept in a bed each. Would recommend!

The cottages are a little on the run down side for the price of one night. Camping feel which is alright. The size is great for a family with two kids (or even more).

Very bare bones for the price. Not even any soap. Would not recommend or stay again.

Bathroom is too small

Excellent resort property with dinner option. Good is very good at the restaurant.

Stayed here a few years ago and loved it. This time there we were placed in a cottage on the end no views surrounded by trees, there were multiple teenagers staying on site who were loud playing music and consrantly knocking on others doors. Room was old and dated, shower ran out of water very quickly so you then had to wait an hour for it to fill up, they provided coffee cups but no spoons or anything to use. Very very basic cottage wouldnt stay again you can get much more for your money staying elsewhere

Amazing place to stay, this place was perfect! we paid extra for breakfast but it was well worth it It is perfect when you are traveling the south coast and apparently it would be amazing during ther northern lights season

Cottages are simple but confortable and conveniently located. Quiet area. Friendly and helpful staff.

Thank you for the great service and relocation to a cabin on Christmas day in the big winter storm. Dinner at the restaurant was one of the best dinners we've ever had.

This was a great place to stay for our last night in Iceland! We missed the 9 pm time to check in so they left the key for us to pickup with ease!
