Margao Residency

Room was good. Service was good. Only breakfast items are very limited. I am not happy with break fast.

Total confusion and embarrassment despite having a pre-paid confirmation. More embarrassing was when told the stay did not include breakfast and had to literally argue with the receptionist / Manager. Apart from this hygiene (house keeping). Towels (as good as door mat) and bed linen below par. Toiletries not supplied on a daily basis and only on request, same goes with drinking water. Television is outdated with very poor viewing and lack clarity for all channels. Its a shame that the hotel belongs to Goa Tourism Dept who are all out to fleece customers than give them the opportunity to enjoy their stay for the price they pay!!

I booked this hotel because we were arriving at 1am on a train from Mumbai. I called the hotel from the train to confirm we were coming in late, but the woman hung up on me before I could ask her about train station pick up. When we arrived the guard and staff were asleep. After we woke them, they leisurely checked us in at 2am and insisted I pay even though I had a hotels.com print out stating I paid. She finally relented and said I could handle it in the morning. The room was very basic: towels and soap were included but no toilet paper. The sheets were stained and worn. In the morning, the staff was more knowledgeable and I didn't have to pay again. It's right around the corner from the MMC New Market, which might be it's only perk. I would stay here again nor recommend it to a friend. The price on the website is several hundred rupees higher than in person. It was listed as 1270 rupees for a double room.
