Great hotel.

Fantastic location in the middle of the Sassi!! Cannot beat the views from the various suites! Taxis are also able to drive right up to the hotel, which made for a very convenient pick up and drop off. And the breakfast! WOW! One of the best we have had in Europe in terms the wide variety of local selection and service. The room was quite large and cozy for a cave. It was a little damp/stuffy, plus the floor had small ants all over the place, but can't really complain about that given you are staying in a cave. As this is also a spa, I was expecting a little better amenities in terms of body wash, hair wash, etc. They do provide slippers though which was amazing on the stone floors. We only stayed one night, so did not get a chance to check out the spa but would have loved to. Would highly recommend staying here!

We absolutely loved our cave room (15) it was beautiful & made our stay celebrating my wife’s 60th birthday very special. We also had a wonderful time at the termae & enjoyed our couples massage. We will definitely be recommending it. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Very picturesque, but living in caves has its' downsides.

Everyhting was excellent except the noise isolation of the hotelroom. If You are sensitive to voices, when trying to sleep, I warmly recommend to pack earplugs.

Stunning little hidden gem in the middle of the Matera sassi, the spa is among the best spas I have ever been to with a large warm 30 degree cave pool with multiple small pools and jacuzzi jets. There is also another pool with slightly cooler water and jacuzzi beds and then two different temperature saunas, steam room and relaxation beds. There was also drinking water and different healthy teas to choose from in the spa. The hotel rooms are all styled as small 'suites' set into the Matera terraces. Our room was at the top of our terrace which was fantastic as we were right next to a gate to access the street level without needing to go through the hotel. Breakfast was delicious, focaccia, meats, cheeses, cakes, pastries, fruit, juice, cappuccino etc. We didn't use the bar as there were so many bars and lovely restaurants nearby but the bar looked nice. Rooms are beautifully furnished and styled with antique furniture. Some toiletries were provided in the room. Despite being in the old Matera region and very historic feel to the rooms, the shower was very powerful and perfect temperature which is great if you like a strong shower. Matera is the most beautiful place I have ever been to and this hotel was certainly a gorgeous little gem. The staff were lovely and helpful and had good English. Will definitley be returning as soon as possible.

The hotel is very nice and the staff very friendly and helpful. The breakfast could do with a bit more love… The noise does travel very easily between rooms, I could hear my neighbor’s conversations

Quaint little hotel within the beautiful town of Matera with original features. A perfect little, ancient Italian town and we fell in love with the cobble streets, winding paths and amazing views. Bring trainers and wear comfy clothing as you will do a lot of walking to take in all the sites

Bellissima struttura caratteristica nei sassi . Eccezionale le piscine sottostanti. Unico neo che è tipico di quella zona per andare in camera bisogna fare un po’ di scale. Esperienza da ripetere
