I stayed there one night with my mother because it is a very traditional ryokan and serves traditional Kyoto cuisine.

It was a great experience and the best breakfast ever.

Great location and super helpful staff. The dinner and breakfast were superb. We all enjoyed the Ryokan experience.

The property was so quiet and peaceful. Recommend for a hotel to relax in!

Was very clean. Beds comfortable. Breakfast was traditional but good. Minimal English from hotel staff.

Staff were very welcoming and the kaiseke dinner offered in your room was incredible, the location is great as well as you can walk to Ninenzaka in less than 10 minutes.

Everyone was very nice and very helpful. The kaiseki dinner was very good and portions were generous. The Ryokan is as advertised!

This is my first ryokan experience and it was excellent. The place offered authentic Japanese living, dining, and bathing experience. The warm and care hospitality was most impressive. Highly recommended to stay if you visit Kyoto.

Overall a very wonderful Ryokan expierence! We paid for both the dinner and breakfast, both of which were very sensible and delicious. I do believe that it is worth the extra added cost, especially the dinner, which is served in our room. The breakfast was served in a dining room on the 2nd floor, which was still nice but definitely a different feeling. We had the choice to choose from three different time slots: I think we ate at 6:30PM (latest available) and 8:00 AM (2nd option). I will say in terms of service, that I did not feel like the staff was very involved in the process of the expierence as much as I had hoped. For dinner we had a little English menu to explain the dishes in front of us, but this was not true for breakfast. For some members of our party who were unfamiliar with Japanese food, a little explaination would have been wonderful. I felt similarly about the lack of explaination about the public baths and our yukatas. Perhaps this expection was unrealistic and imposing of me, but something to note for those who had a similar expectation. For my party, we were shown our rooms, explained the TV remote and left alone for the entirety of the stay. Note on public bath- it is TINY. Do not come with the expectation of a proper onsen type bath. It comfortably fits 4 ppl MAX. Bedroom was beautiful and clean, futon beds were firm but comfortable. They allow you to store luggage after checkout which was very wondeful. We stored until 3PM for free.

Muy tradicional, a pesar de la ubicacion. La atencion en Japon (a donde vayas) es muy buena. El desayuno vale la pena, muy rico y ceremonioso. Cuidado con los horarios de desayuno que selecciones, porque en cuanto bajas a desayunar, las señoras que te atienden, suben a tu habitacion a doblar y recoger los futones y en cuanto subes solo quedan los tatamis. Yo ya sabia y np tuve problema, pero he visto comentarios negativos sobre eso.

We wanted to experience the Ryokan and Kyoto Ryokan The Kinoe was perfect.

Kinoe staff were all so very kind and helpful. The room was beautiful and the breakfast was delicious. I will definitely stay again!
