Beautiful location and views out onto the ocean! Good food and friendly service. The rooms were tidy and clean, though the bathroom needed some maintenance.

This is a small property with only 15 rooms and we loved it! We were there just before "the season" started, so they were in the process of sprucing it up while we were there. The staff and service was friendly and helpful. The view and the grounds were beautiful. The 2 swimming pools and the proximity to the beach and town were real pluses. The only issue was the lack of hot water in the bathroom: it took a very long time of running the shower/taps before you received hot water and with the water shortages in southern Africa, I wasn't willing to waste that much water. Luckily, the weather was perfect and hot showers weren't necessary. The restaurant food and service was top notch. I would gladly recommend this property to everybody!

Elegantly casual hotel with very good food, a great view and conveniently located near the town center. Check-in was smooth; check-out a little bumpy but all worked out well in the end!

We selected this hotel because it said “boutique” hotel, but this hotel did not live up to these standards. The rooms need renovation, the staff working in the restaurant needs customer service training at a level that one expects to find in a 4 star boutique hotel.

The views from the Acacia rooms were beautiful. Breakfast was also excellent each day

We celebrated our 25th Wedding Anniversary at Casa Rex. Paulo, Sophia and the Team were extremely accommodating to ensuring that we had a great time!!! They recommended and encouraged many activities and restaurants within the area and without any hesitation! Their staff were always smiling and always wanted to do things! It's a fantastic setting with great food and facilities!! I would recommend to anyone wanting to relax!

Wer nebst der Safari in Südafrika und dem Citytrip in Kapstadt noch auf der Suche nach Badeferien ist, wird in diesem Hotel mit sehr gutem Preis-Leistungsverhältnis glücklich werden. Sehr gute Küche im hoteleigenen Restaurant, schöner Infinitiy-Pool. Gute Gästebetreuung, die einem die (in Mocambique erfüllbaren) Wünsche erfüllt. Landestypische Probleme (kurze Strom-, WLAN- oder Klimaanlage-Ausfälle) werden rasch möglichst behoben. Hotel hat direkten Strandzugang jedoch wird der mit einer Treppe direkt erreichbare Strand nicht bewirtschaftet.

The Casa Rex was just the perfect place for the limited time which I'd had for a weekend break from the Temane construction site. The room was perfect, the view was awesome and the sunbirds and kingfishers were terrific. The only issue was the noisy neighborhood late into the night and the karaoke singer at 6am on Sunday morning.

Friendly hotel with spacious rooms and good service. Great to be picked up and taken back to the airport with no extra charge. Beautiful setting with very well-maintained gardens. The food was excellent and always served to order and hot! Not a luke-warm buffet breakfast in sight which was very welcome. Dinner menu had a large and varied choice. The area itself is very quiet and sleepy, but we were expecting this. I only marked the hotel condition down one notch as the doors and window shutters in our room ( No. 1 ) were a bit ill-fitting so not exactly secure. Overall a great hotel and owner/manager Mel to be commended.

I never leave online reviews but in this case I must. The service and friendliness of staff was beyond expectations. Mel goes above and beyond to ensure that guests have a pleasant stay. The staff organized excursions for me everyday. The restaurant was great and had a large selection. Being a vegetarian and coming from Chimoio, I had suffered a a great deal. The restaurant at Casa Rex has many tasty vegetarian options. The room was very comfy and cozy and had an amazing view of the ocean the room has a large balcony and many windows that I could open, so it was like I was constantly seeing and listening to the ocean. What what is most notable about my stay is that Mel voluntarily made phone calls around town and posts on Facebook and arranged for someone to give me a lift back to Chimoio so that I would not have to take a bus or chapa again. This was completely unexpected. I've never experienced such hospitality and individualized attention anywhere else. The staff went out of their way to ensure my comfort. Thank you, Mel!!
