Fabulous! I’ve never been disappointed yet in the many times I’ve stayed there. It’s always a memorable experience staying at Shanker Hotel. Beautiful architecture, great garden and outdoor pool, and absolutely wonderful staff. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. If you’ve never been to Kathmandu before then this is the place to stay. You won’t regret it!!!

This is a beautiful hotel with a lot of history. Beautiful architecture and garden. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. I’ve stayed here many times. It is my favorite hotel in Kathmandu! I highly recommend staying at Hotel Shankar, especially if it’s your first visit to Nepal. My stays at the hotel are always memorable!

The hotel actually has a’family’ ambience. From the doorman to the cleaners and the concierge to the management, everyone is treated fairly and warmly. They are truly ladies and gentlemen serving ladies and gentlemen.

This was an amazing place to stay...a former palace. It is elegant, beautiful, has spacious rooms with all the amenities, a wonderful restaurant with an impeccable menu at great prices, and pool. It is in a great and safe location, 5 mins from shops and main restaurants at a $2 cab ride away but peaceful where it is located.The breakfast buffet is delicious and varied. The massage was the best I've ever had anywhere in the world. The staff was extraordinary, helpful, &kind. I left significant money by mistake on the reception counter and was leaving in the cab, but staff from reception came running outside to bring me the money I had forgotten. That is beyond honest!

We enjoyed 4 nights here.
The staff were absolutely lovely. Always greeted with a smile and always willing to help with any request.
The room was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast varried and good quality.
The pool area was very relaxing and free towels and changing facilities provided.
On the final morning we were unfortunately unable to have breakfast as our flight time was changed.
This was no problem for the staff who provided a lovely breakfast for us all to take with us at 5.30am. A porter was also waiting to take our bags from the bedroom without even requesting this.
An excellent experience, thank you lovely Hotel Shanker staff.
