The staff was absolutely amazing. My nephew had a medical emergency in our room, and the hotel staff was instrumental in contacting the paramedics. The attention of the staff during and after the event cannot be praised enough. The concierge was very courteous and professional. The suites are very nice, and the cleaning staff did an excellent job. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Amsterdam.

This hotel is conveniently located - opposite the train station and nearby to a lot of restaurants and cafes. Disappointingly the hotel did not meet expectation. The pictures appear to represent a small number of rooms that have been rennovated, and are a not a fair representation of the average room. We had to move room, firstly due to it being unclean and secondly as it did not appear to be of the grade we booked. The second room was not much better. It had a balcony that was intentionally unaccessible, which feels like a waste, and all of the decor and furnishings are extremely worn and shabby in areas. We were told we were moved to a "rennovated" room, but it did not match the pictures. This started our holiday on a sour note, particularly having to go back and forth to reception to discuss the problems. They tried to be helpful, but the messaging was inconsistent. The restaurant was a plus - nicely decorated and breakfast was tasty. We did use the spa - it wasn't anything special and the massages were very overpriced for what felt like inexperienced masseurs. Overall it was a very average stay, and expect to hear noise from the streets if you are on the lower floors.

We stayed in a superior king room with canal view, the room itself was ok however whats advertised in the pictures isnt included in the room in terms of "designer toiletries" and water etc. The room looked clean however on closer inspection it definitely wasnt an could do with a deep clean. Some things are starting to look a bit worn and tatty. We was on the first floor and the noise level is quite alot( i dont recommend this level or room if you're a light sleeper). The bed was huge with nice bedding however the mattress was so hard that i woke up with a bad neck an back which put a downer on my day.
