Jaffna Heritage Villa

Excellent team. Beautiful old colonial house.Breakfast was very good.Near nallur temple.This was our second visit in Jaffna.

When booking through Expedia website, the details that were provided for the stay was Jaffna Heritage Hotel but confirmed details showed Jaffna Heritage Villa. Both managed by same owners and we thought we booked the hotel rather than the Villa. I had already raised this with Expedia but no response!! In future, I will use other booking platforms so that issues raised are resolved promptly.

Great sophisticated place!

I mostly enjoyed my stay here, but of all the places I stayed in Sri Lanka, I felt it was the least good in terms of value for money. Service was good, and I certainly didn't mind walking over to the main hotel for certain things not provided at the villa. Did run into a bit of confusion on my first morning, when I was informed that my rate did not include breakfast, although my booking confirmation clearly said that it would. They did provide me with breakfast throughout my stay, although I felt the continental option as awfully meager in its offerings (small glass of juice, a bit of fresh fruit, four slices of toast with jam, four slices of cheese, and tea/coffee). I was startled upon walking into my bathroom on the first night to discover an equally-startled cockroach skittering across the floor. The general condition of the bathroom was disappointing. The sink fixture was visibly corroded, and the stream of water that was provided would be better described as a fine mist. Fortunately, no further insects made an appearance and the shower functioned reasonably well throughout my stay. The wifi signal was too weak to be of any use in my room, so I relied on my mobile data throughout my stay. The restaurant at the hotel is quite tasty, although you will pay a premium over other options in the area. I would consider it a convenient first night's dinner if making a late arrival and then after that take a short walk to nearby places.

Beware! The Hertage Villa is an annex of the Heritage. Across the street and 100 meters to the North. It has no atmosphere and no staff. The bathroom was smelly. Poor value for the money spent.

La villa est pres de l’hotel Heritage, ou il y a le restaurant et la réception. La nuit à la villa il y a seulement le gardien. Service correct mais pas personnalsé soit à l’hotel et à la villa. Chambre confortable mais sans récente renovation. Un conclusion bien mais pas excellent.

Enjoyed the stay very much because it is in a nice area close to the famous Nallur temple and very good restaurants around. Manager and the staff are very friendly and helpful. A bit worried about the room security since it is a villa and there is no one in the reception or security all times. On top of that gate and the main door are always open. Also hardly anyone there when we need something.

We were Not in the Heritage Villa but in the Heritage Hotel (same management, a few metres down the road). The air-condition was a bit weak, but all the rest was superb

Excellent villa .kept clean by the excellent team of staffs. They treated us very well. If you need a jaffna breakfast just ask the villa manager. The jaffna breakfast was excellent. Best place to stay in jaffna. Nice to have a good manager . Well done team.

The staff was very helpful and friendly. They helped me arrange transportation to where I wanted to go around Jaffna via Tuk Tuks. I was in a building a couple if blocks from the reception, which was weird at first, but I got used to it and it was fine. The restaurant had very tasty good, although they did not have all the menu items.

A spacious room in The Jaffna heritage villa is perfect for tourists or business people, who wants high standard but don't want to pay 100 dollars per night for a hotel. It's got all the comfort you need, and it's calm and with a really nice atmosphere. For example, the smooth concrete floors are really nice to walk barefoot on. One big plus is the breakfast, which was included. The chef from India made some really wonderful thin bread with sauce, and with coffee, and fresh fruit it's all you need to start the day in a good way. Couldn't connect to the wi-fi, which was no big problem since there is mobile internet coverage. The staff at the Heritage Hotel are really helpful, friendly and humble, trying to give extra service to help their guests.
