Yala Golden Wild

We were there for a quick over-night to go on a safari in the early morning. The evening meal was poor, in fact it was take-out from another supplier and not prepared on the spot. The box breakfast was poor. The room was fine. We did not use the pool. It is quite far from the nature park so requred a long drive to get to the safari. Generally it was OK for the price. Just have realistic expectations.

Room was large and spotlessly clean. Swimming pool was gorgeous. Staff were welcoming and very helpful. Breakfast was amazing. Lovely shady garden area to sit in with a drink.

The most comfortable beds I’ve experienced in a long time, and also compared to many 5-star hotels I’ve tried, this place had very simple but spacious and comfortable rooms with good AC, huge beds and nice balcony. The owners were very helpful and friendly. Can recommend this place if you are visiting this area!

Het wordt gerund door drie fijne mensen. Super vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Er wordt nog volop verbeterd aan de accomodatie, maar het is nu al zeer de moeite waard. De kok is geweldig. De meest simpele gerechten zijn super smaakvol en beter dan de lokale restaurants!

Bon accueil avec un verre de bienvenue Chambre spacieuse et propre avec une belle terrasse mais pas d eau chaude pour la douche Piscine mais un peu fraiche Très bon petit déjeuner en buffet

The hotel was very nice and it was so nice to have a swim in the pool when we arrived. The hotel was very clean and the facilities and standarts was very high. A perfect hotel to the price! The owner of the hotel was so kind and helpful, and helped us to arrange a full day safari through the hotel in Yala National Park. We were extremely lucky and had the best driver on our Safari, he knew everything about the animals, the nature in the park and knew exactly where to find them. On top of that he was a very kind person! You should definitely go here and ask for Taridu to be your driver and you are sure to have the best Safari ever!

Very welcoming. They can arrange tickets and safari jeep to Yala wildlife safari. Breakfast is packed and given at 5AM in the morning.

Very disappointed with this hotel - we booked 2 nights unfortunately. Room was ok but lots of flies & bugs. Tv didn’t work with a message saying the bill had not been paid. Offers a restaurant but it’s just tables in reception & food cooked badly by receptionist. Breakfast wasn’t good either. No alcohol, the guy drove off & came back with 2 cans of warm beer. Has potential to be nice but poorly run. Location is rural, you need a car

Fantastic stay, great pool and plenty of space in our room, hotel is a little bit tired but definitely sufficient for our stay. Best part was our hosts were super friendly and tried to go above and to make sure we had a perfect stay. We booked our safari through them and our guide was excellent. I would definitely recommend a stay here and booking safari with them as our guide knew exactly where to spot the animals and we saw so many where others we spoke to didnt get to see much. He was definitely knowledgeable and made the trip super enjoyable for the 12 hours we were in the jeep. We totally booked this hotel on other recommendations and it was totally worth it.

Brilliant guest house, with pool! We saw langur monkeys whilst in the pool, huge bats flying off from the lake and a monitor lizard on the way back from lunch. The owner and his family were incredibly helpful and booked us a full day safari. We have done a few safaris and this was the best we have ever taken, the driver Tharusha and his assistant worked incredibly hard, had very good knowledge both of species and habitat which paid off as after waiting quietly for probably 40 minutes the driver spotted the tip of a leopard's tail slightly sticking out of a bush. We were the only people in that area of the park to see the leopard so close, about 2 meters away, on our own, for a good 15 minutes before the rest of the world arrived. I recommend you book through the hotel.

The owners are very nice and accommodating to help with transport and safari. The room was basic but clean and tidy.

Very quiet place except once the power goes down and the generator starts Nice swimming pool also and secure place for car parking

My stay was superb, the room was cleaned very spacious and comfortable, a great location!

Meget venlig og serviceminded personale/maneger. Vi fik brug for en sen udcheckning og det var intet problem. Vi havde vores egen lille veranda, men ingen udsigt til den nærliggende sø. 1-2 km ind til byen/spisesteder. Men man kunne spise på hotellet - store portioner.

We had a very short stay, basically only slept one night and left 5 am in the morning. For that short stay, the hotel is ok. For those who want to stay longer, they may find the facilities are limited. There are restaurants nearby and staff packed breakfast for us to bring to the park.

Stayed for 2 nights as we were only in the area to do the safari ( which cost 8500 rupees through this accom). Room was clean. Clean linen, working aircon, good shower water pressure. Kettle and tea provided. Didnt explore local area so cannot comment on whats around. Food was decent. Despite accom stating there is a 24hr front desk, theres no front desk area. Had to go looking for the guy a number of times (without success) as theres no designated spot

Stayed for 2 nights and we were very happy with our stay. Room was very new and good condition. Wifi was good and the owner was very helpful for getting our breakfast boxes ready at a very early morning hour as we had to leave for the early morning safari. Hot water shower available.
