We absolutely love this place. This is our second year staying there and looking forward to staying there next summer. Breakfast is delicious, love that they have an indoor/outdoor pool and hot tubs and a very nice beach area with plenty of chairs and a couple fire pits. Highly recommend this place is you have a family. Staff is do friendly and it’s very clean. Rooms are big and you have a beautiful view of the lake and gorgeous sunsets

This property has a very nice sandy, swimmable beach with plenty of chairs for gathering. Our room was also clean with the exception of a stained carpet.
There are several negatives about this hotel. The FREE breakfast, which believe me you pay for, is underwhelming. The first morning of our stay, arriving on time to breakfast, there was no food left. The dining area is very small and does not accommodate the amount of people staying at the hotel. The hallway carpeting was grossly dirty, groupings of dead flys were seen at ceiling height, dirty moldy windows noted throughout, damaged wallpaper and walls that need painting were seen throughout the complex.
About 15 years ago I stayed at the Cherry Tree Inn and enjoyed the stay. The stay this time was very disappointing.

If you don’t mind a very crowded kid filled hotel where the doors slam loudly and constantly to his is your place. The only nice thing really is the location on the water and the staff.
Experienced a majority of rude self centered parents with a couple of exceptions.

Great option for families in the area. The private beach with its facilities plus outdoor and indoor pools were all a hit with the kids. The custodial and breakfast area staff were very helpful.
The room was a bit dated, but clean and spacious.

The front desk staff was friendly. The room was clean with an awesome view of the bay. Breakfast was solid, though the eating area gets full quickly. The only drawback was the highway right outside and the associated noise. A quality stay, overall.

Decent location and close to downtown. The hotel had a nice location and decent amenities. It was a little aged and had some updates. The breakfast area was rather small and a lot of people were sitting in the same room. The breakfast was not great, but it was provided. The room was spacious and had great views of the lake. There was trash in the cans in the room that were not emptied, and it may be question the cleanliness of the room. Besides that, everything else was good.

So much about this stay was good - the room was spacious, quiet. The bed was comfortable. There is an indoor and outdoor pool and a guest laundry. But the staff seemed stressed and not overly friendly. The breakfast was typical. Easy walk across the major highway to a Walgreens and a very good grocery store (Tom’s Food) an easy drive.

I’m not a fan of traverse city but was in town for a softball tournament. Hotel is nice and clean. Beautiful beach. My problem ended up not being able to get breakfast. We had to leave before 7am to get to the ball field. This meant no breakfast. Had they opened it at 6:30 we could have had breakfast. They had a wonderful breakfast last year so I would assume it would be good again this year. That’s why we stayed there again. But it is very expensive almost $400 a night. Without being able to get breakfast there it added another expense. I wish they considered there customers because there was several other softball players there who experienced the same problem.
